Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced BOQ Engineer to prepare, review, and manage Bills of Quantities (BOQ), quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and project-related billing documentation. The candidate will coordinate with the Project, Planning, Procurement, and Accounts teams to ensure accurate quantity and cost control throughout the project.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and review Bills of Quantities (BOQ) based on drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Perform detailed quantity take-offs for civil and construction works.
- Study and interpret civil, structural, architectural, and MEP drawings.
- Prepare detailed material and quantity estimates for various project activities.
- Verify quantities mentioned in contractor/subcontractor quotations and BOQs.
- Prepare rate analysis and assist in preparing project cost estimates.
- Prepare and verify client bills, subcontractor bills, RA bills, and measurement sheets.
- Check executed quantities at site against approved BOQ and drawings.
- Coordinate with the site team to verify measurements and actual work quantities.
- Identify variations, additional works, and deviations from the approved BOQ.
- Prepare variation statements, reconciliation statements, and quantity comparison reports.
- Assist in preparing tender documents, rate schedules, and cost estimates.
- Maintain records of BOQ revisions, measurements, work orders, and billing documents.




- Coordinate with procurement and stores teams for material quantity reconciliation.
- Monitor project quantities and support effective cost control.
- Prepare regular MIS reports related to quantities, billing, and project costs.
- Ensure all quantity calculations and documentation are accurate and properly maintained.

Required Skills
- Good knowledge of BOQ preparation and quantity estimation.
- Robust understanding of civil construction activities and measurement methods.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of rate analysis and construction costing.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and other estimation-related software.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD is preferred.
- Good numerical and analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as coordinate with project/site teams.

Educational Qualification B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.

Experience

2–5 years of relevant experience in BOQ preparation, quantity surveying, estimation, billing, or cost control in the construction/infrastructure industry.
