We are looking for an experienced Blood Bank Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of the blood bank, supervise technical staff, ensure proper blood collection, testing, processing, storage and issue of blood and blood components, and maintain compliance with applicable regulatory, quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

- Supervise and coordinate day-to-day blood bank operations and technical activities.

- Manage and allocate duties to Blood Bank Technicians and support staff.

- Ensure proper blood donor screening, registration, counseling, and blood collection procedures.

- Oversee ABO/Rh blood grouping, cross-matching, antibody screening, and compatibility testing.

- Supervise processing and preparation of PRBC, FFP, Platelets, Cryoprecipitate, and other blood components.

- Ensure proper screening of donated blood for Transfusion Transmitted Infections (TTIs) as per applicable guidelines.

- Monitor proper storage temperature and conditions for blood and blood components.

- Maintain and monitor blood inventory, stock, issue, quarantine, screened stock, discard, and component records.

- Ensure proper identification, labeling, documentation, and traceability of every blood unit/component.

- Verify and authorize blood/component issue as per established procedures and applicable requirements.

- Monitor expiry dates, stock levels, wastage, and emergency blood requirements.

- Ensure compliance with SOPs, quality control procedures, infection-control practices, and biomedical waste management.

- Maintain and review all required blood bank registers, records, reports, and documentation.

- Coordinate with clinicians, nursing staff, laboratory, OT, ICU, emergency, and other hospital departments for blood/component requirements.

- Handle and document transfusion reactions, discrepancies, adverse events,



and other blood bank incidents and escalate them appropriately.

- Ensure regular quality-control checks and calibration/maintenance of blood bank equipment.

- Assist in preparation for and compliance with NABH, NACO and applicable blood bank regulatory requirements and inspections.

- Conduct staff training and ensure adherence to blood bank SOPs and safety procedures.

- Monitor staff performance, attendance, competency, and training requirements.

- Ensure adequate staffing and smooth functioning of the blood bank during emergency and night shifts.

- Prepare periodic reports related to blood collection, component preparation, stock, utilization, discard, and wastage.

- Coordinate with authorized blood centres/organizations when required for blood or component availability.

Required Skills:

- Strong knowledge of Blood Banking and Transfusion Medicine.

- Hands-on knowledge of blood grouping, cross-matching, component separation, TTI screening, and blood storage.

- Good understanding of blood bank SOPs, quality management, documentation, and regulatory compliance.

- Strong team-management and supervisory skills.

- Valuable inventory and record-management skills.

- Ability to handle emergency blood requirements efficiently.

- Good communication and coordination skills.

- Basic knowledge of computer applications and blood bank/LIS software.

- Ability to conduct staff training and monitor compliance.

- Strong attention to detail and patient-safety orientation.

Eligibility:

- Qualification: B.Sc. MLT / B.Sc.

Medical Laboratory

Technology / DMLT or equivalent.

- Experience: 5-6 years of relevant experience in a hospital/blood bank.

- Previous experience in a licensed hospital blood bank and supervisory experience will be preferred.

Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
