Summary

We are seeking a skilled BIW Fixture Design Engineer to play a pivotal role in the development of high-precision welding and assembly fixtures for automotive body-in-white (BIW) structures. This position is critical to ensuring manufacturing efficiency, product quality, and design compliance across cutting-edge automotive projects. The ideal candidate will leverage advanced CAD tools and engineering principles to deliver robust, scalable fixture solutions while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including robotics, simulation, and manufacturing.

Responsibilities

- Design and develop BIW welding and assembly fixtures, including Geo, Respot, and Framing fixtures
- Create detailed 3D models and 2D engineering drawings using CATIA or NX
- Collaborate with robotics, simulation, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless integration and process optimization




- Validate fixture designs for manufacturability, feasibility, and compliance with GD&T; standards
- Support DFMEA activities, perform tolerance analysis, and participate in customer technical reviews
- Ensure adherence to automotive industry standards and best practices in tooling and assembly design

Requirements
- 7-10 years of experience in BIW fixture design, with OEM or Tier 1 automotive experience preferred
- Proficient in CAD software, specifically CATIA or NX, for 3D modeling and 2D detailing
- Strong understanding of GD&T;, welding processes, and relevant automotive manufacturing standards
- In-depth knowledge of tooling components, including pneumatics, clamps, and modular fixture units
- Proven ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional environment with a focus on continuous improvement
