We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated BIM Technician - ICT & ELV to join our Technology Systems team in India, supporting projects across the APAC region. The role combines technical & design knowledge with responsibility for delivering complex ICT and telecommunications systems across a diverse range of sectors, including healthcare, aviation, transportation, commercial developments, mixed-use developments and Majorly data centres Projects
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed BIM models for building technology systems, including ICT, telecommunications, ELV, security, and audio-visual systems.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary design teams to ensure seamless integration and coordination of building technology systems within the BIM setting.
- Perform 3D model coordination, clash detection, and clash resolution using BIM software to identify and resolve system conflicts during the design and construction stages.
- Provide technical guidance and support to project teams on BIM standards, modelling practices, coordination procedures, and BIM workflows.
- Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and quality of BIM models, drawings, specifications, schedules, and project documentation.
- Assist in the preparation, implementation, and maintenance of BIM Execution Plans (BEPs), including project objectives, modelling requirements, workflows, responsibilities, and deliverables.
- Develop and maintain BIM models in accordance with applicable BIM standards, project requirements, client specifications, and information management procedures.
- Coordinate ICT, security, AV, telecommunications, and other building services with architectural, structural, MEP, and specialist systems.
- Participate in design reviews, coordination meetings, workshops, and technical presentations to communicate BIM strategies, coordination requirements, design issues, and project outcomes to clients and project stakeholders.
- Provide technical support, training, and mentoring to junior BIM technicians and design team members in BIM processes, modelling standards, coordination, and software applications.
- Monitor developments in BIM technologies, digital engineering, building technology systems, and industry standards, and identify opportunities to improve project delivery and design coordination.
- Support the project team in achieving quality, programme, coordination, and information management objectives throughout the project lifecycle.
- Understand project BIM requirements and implement appropriate BIM protocols, standards, and procedures.
- Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of 3D CAD, Revit, Navisworks, and Revisto, including relevant software standards and workflows.
- Coordinate and review 3D interdisciplinary BIM models, ensuring accurate integration and identification of design interfaces and conflicts.
- Develop a fundamental understanding of discipline-specific design principles, processes, and requirements.
- Develop General Arrangement (GA) drawings from engineers’ sketches and other design team information, converting design concepts into accurate and coordinated construction details.
- Prepare room layouts, sections, detailed drawings, and coordinated building services drawings.
- Produce accurate, high-quality BIM drawings and models within agreed project schedules and deadlines.
- Ensure drawings, models,
and associated document registration systems are prepared accurately in accordance with project specifications and applicable internal and external standards.
- Apply relevant industry standards, technical guidance, and project requirements in accordance with established QA/QC processes.
- Follow quality assurance, document control, archiving, and CDM requirements throughout project delivery.
- Maintain effective communication and quality management processes with project teams and stakeholders.
- Take ownership and responsibility for the successful delivery of assigned project tasks.
- Deliver project tasks within agreed timeframes while maintaining regular communication with Project Leads, BIM Coordinators, Engineers, and the wider design team.
- Develop awareness of project delivery risks, constraints, and appropriate mitigation measures.
- Support senior BIM Technicians and BIM Coordinators in analysing design tasks, resolving technical issues, and addressing project challenges.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of BIM workflows, drawing quality, coordination, and project delivery processes.
- Undertake other relevant duties and responsibilities as directed to support the company in delivering high-quality services and outstanding outcomes for clients.
