Role Summary The Quantity Surveyor / Billing Engineer will be responsible for quantity verification, invoice review and certification of progress payments, ensuring that all billing across project packages is accurate, well-documented and compliant with contractual terms.
Role & responsibilities
- Verify work quantities for billing against approved drawings, BOQ and actual site execution.
- Review subcontractor and vendor invoices (RA bills) and certify progress payments in line with contract terms.
- Prepare and submit client RA bills with supporting measurement sheets and documentation.
- Validate quantities in change orders and support rate analysis for extra items and variation works.
- Maintain material and quantity reconciliation records in coordination with all contractors.
- Maintain records comparing drawing quantities with actual executed quantities, and highlight deviations.
- Maintain measurement books, billing trackers and certified payment records for audit readiness.
- Support the Project Manager in rate negotiations,
change-order management and claim discussions.
- Coordinate with site execution, planning and procurement teams to ensure timely and accurate billing.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong quantity take-off, measurement (as per IS 1200 / BOQ) and reconciliation skills.
- Good command of MS Excel and billing tools; ability to read and interpret civil and structural drawings (AutoCAD knowledge preferred).
- Familiarity with contract conditions, rate analysis and variation/claim procedures.
- High accuracy, attention to detail and sound commercial acumen.
- Solid coordination and communication skills with execution teams, contractors and clients.
Preferred candidate profile
- Experience on EPC projects in sectors such as metals, mining, process plants or heavy industrial infrastructure.
- Exposure to ERP/SAP-based billing systems.
