About Alvarez & Marsal
Alvarez & Marsal (A&M;) is a global consulting firm with entrepreneurial, action and results-oriented professionals. We take a hands-on approach to solving our clients' problems and assisting them in reaching their potential. Our culture celebrates independent thinkers and doers who positively impact our clients and shape our industry.
The cooperative environment and engaging work - guided by A&M;'s core values of Integrity, Quality, Objectivity, Fun, Personal Reward, and Inclusive Diversity - are why our people love working at A&M.;
The Team
You'll work within a small central operations team (3-4 people) that supports the broader Corporate Shared Services function at the GCC. The team is responsible for transition planning, process optimization, and operational excellence across multiple functions (HR, Marketing, IT, etc.). You'll support the Director's strategic work while owning specific workstreams and operational initiatives. This is not a large team, so you'll have direct access to the local and global leadership (e.g.
Managing
Directors) and visibility into strategic decision-making. This also provides an opportunity for talented individuals to grow into this role and take-up broader responsibilities as the team and functions grow.
How You Will Contribute
This role is a senior execution-focused role within the Corporate Shared Services team at A&M;'s GCC. Reporting directly to the Director of Corporate Shared Services & Operations, this person will own specific transformation workstreams and operational initiatives while supporting the broader operating model strategy. This role is ideal for someone with strong consulting/advisory experience who excels at hands-on project execution, process design, and building capability - someone who can take direction on strategic priorities and deliver highquality outputs independently.
You'll work directly with functional teams, local operations staff, and regional partners to execute transitions, optimize processes, and document best practices.
This is not a people management role (though you may mentor junior team members), nor is it a client-facing strategic advisory role. It's a role for an excellent executor who brings consulting rigor to internal operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Process Transition Execution - Support process transitions to the GCC with detailed plans, documentation, and training content, working closely with functional and GCC Ops teams for smooth handovers. Build templates and playbooks for future reuse and support change management as needed.
- Workstream Delivery - Own 2-3 specific transformation or operational initiatives from planning through execution. Develop project plans, track progress, identify risks, manage deliverable quality, and ensure alignment with operating model standards
- Documentation & Knowledge Management - Create process documentation, playbooks, job aids, and training materials. Codify best practices and lessons learned in reusable formats, organize process libraries, and ensure all documentation is clear, accessible, and current
- Analysis & Business Case Support - Conduct detailed analysis of costs, volumes, and efficiency metrics to support process improvements. Build financial models and develop supporting analysis for transformation business cases to be presented to the leadership. Support creation of leadership update material periodically as required
- Team Support & Mentoring - Mentor and support junior team members on consulting-style problem-solving and best practices. Develop training plans for new associates and help build organizational capability in GCC operations.
Qualifications
- 12+ years of professional experience in GCC/GBS advisory or consulting (Big 4, boutique firms,
consulting practices) or corporate operations or business operations roles with project delivery focus
- Strong understanding of GCC/GBS operating models and shared services best practices
- Experience with transition planning, process documentation, and change management (at the execution level)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with ability to synthesize data into clear insights
- Proficiency in financial modelling, business case analysis, and ROI calculations
- Strong written and verbal communication; can create clear, professional documentation
- Ability to work independently on assigned workstreams while seeking guidance when needed
- Attention to detail with ability to manage complex projects with multiple moving pieces
- Comfortable presenting findings to functional leaders and operations teams
- Ability to influence and collaborate across functions without direct authority
- MBA in Operations or Finance
- Prior consulting firm experience strongly preferred
- Prior involvement with GCC/GBS transformation engagements or shared services implementations
- Knowledge of India GCC environment or multinational shared services operations
