TITLE: Assistant Vice President (AVP) – AR Operations
Location: Mohali
Experience: 12–18 Years
POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Assistant Vice President (AVP) – AR Operations to lead and oversee large-scale Accounts Receivable (AR) operations across Physician Billing and Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Billing. The role is responsible for driving revenue recovery, maximizing collections, optimizing AR performance, ensuring client satisfaction, and building high-performing teams.
The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in US Healthcare Revenue Cycle Management, with robust exposure to Physician AR, DME AR, Denial Management, Appeals, Medicare/Medicaid regulations, Commercial Payer guidelines, Client Relationship Management, and Operational Leadership.
The incumbent will play a strategic role in driving operational excellence, revenue enhancement initiatives, transformation projects, and organizational growth.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic & Operational Leadership
- Lead end-to-end AR operations across Physician and DME Billing functions.
- Develop and execute strategies to improve collections, reduce aging, and enhance overall revenue realization.
- Own operational performance for multiple AR teams and ensure achievement of productivity, quality, and financial targets.
- Drive operational governance through regular reviews, dashboards, and performance management frameworks.
- Partner with executive leadership to align business objectives with operational outcomes.
- Build scalable processes to support business growth and client expansion.
Accounts Receivable & Revenue Cycle Management
- Oversee Physician and DME AR portfolios across multiple specialties and payer groups.
- Drive resolution of aged receivables, denied claims, underpayments, and payer escalations.
- Monitor key AR metrics including:
- AR Aging
- Collection Effectiveness
- Net Collection Ratio
- Days in AR
- First Pass Resolution
- Denial Rate
- Recovery Rate
- Identify root causes impacting collection performance and implement corrective action plans.
- Collaborate with payer relations teams to address reimbursement challenges and process gaps.
- Ensure compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial Payer, and HIPAA guidelines.
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as a senior operational leader for client-facing engagements.
- Lead Monthly Business Reviews (MBRs) and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs).
- Present operational performance, revenue trends, improvement initiatives, and strategic roadmaps to clients.
- Build strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Proactively manage escalations and ensure timely resolution of client concerns.
- Support business development initiatives and client expansion opportunities.
Leadership & People Management
- Lead large operational teams through Directors, Managers, Assistant Managers, and Team Leads.
- Manage workforce planning, capacity management, forecasting, and resource allocation.
- Drive leadership development and succession planning initiatives.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching sessions, and talent development programs.
- Lead employee engagement and retention initiatives across the organization.
Process Excellence & Transformation
- Identify automation opportunities and optimize AR workflows.
- Drive Lean, Six Sigma, and operational excellence initiatives.
- Implement best practices across Physician and DME AR functions.
- Partner with Technology, Reporting, Training, and Quality teams to enhance operational effectiveness.
- Lead process migration, transition, and stabilization projects.
- Establish governance mechanisms for risk mitigation and performance improvement.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure adherence to all regulatory, client-specific, and organizational compliance requirements.
- Maintain high standards of data security and HIPAA compliance.
- Drive audit readiness and implement corrective action plans where necessary.
- Monitor operational risks and ensure business continuity planning.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Graduate in any discipline
- Preferred:
- MBA / PGDM
- Healthcare Management
- Hospital Administration
- Business Management
- Certifications in Healthcare Revenue Cycle Management, Lean Six Sigma, or Project Management will be an added advantage.
DESIRED CANDIDATE PROFILE
- 12–18 years of experience in US Healthcare Revenue Cycle Management.
- Minimum 8–10 years of experience in Accounts Receivable Management.
- Strong experience managing both Physician Billing AR and DME Billing AR Operations.
- Proven experience handling large AR portfolios and complex payer environments.
- Minimum 5+ years of leadership experience managing Managers and Team Leads.
- Experience managing operational teams of 500+ FTEs.
