Role Overview

We are looking for a strategic, high-performing Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Sales to lead and scale one of our major business functions.

In this role, you will hold end-to-end revenue responsibility for the Prior Art business. You will lead, coach, and manage a team of Account Executives while personally driving high-value consultative sales across US and European markets.

You will report directly to leadership Sales and have complete ownership of commercial strategy, execution, team pipeline, and target achievement across the entire IP group.

We operate in a highly technical, advisory-driven space. The ideal candidate understands how to position deep consulting value, navigate multi-stakeholder legal/tech buying centers, and articulate business impact rather than selling commoditized services.

Key Responsibilities

Revenue & Sales Strategy

- Hold overall P&L; and revenue target accountability for the business unit.
- Drive consultative, high-value B2B solution selling across North American and European enterprise clients, corporate IP legal departments, and top-tier law firms.
- Build, execute,



and refine go-to-market strategies for complex IP consulting and prior art research solutions.

Team Leadership & Execution

- Directly manage, develop, and scale a team of high-performing Account Executives and SDRs.
- Run rigorous pipeline management, deal forecasting, and strategic account mapping.
- Lead from the front: mentor salespeople on enterprise value selling, client discovery, negotiation, and closing complex consulting mandates.

Stakeholder Management & Alignment

- Work closely with research, analytics, and operational heads within the Prior Art unit to align commercial promises with solution delivery.
- Serve as the functional head for all sales operations within the IP group, reporting key metrics and strategy directly to Head of Sales.

Key Requirements

- Experience: Minimum 10+ years of enterprise solution sales experience in management consulting, high-value qualified services, risk management solutions, or specialized research advisory
- Leadership Track Record: Proven track record of managing a sales team, carrying group revenue quotas, and directly managing Account Executives.
- Hands-on Selling: Demonstrated history of personally originating, negotiating, and closing multi-figure consultative services deals.
- Geographic Exposure: Proven success selling directly into the US and European enterprise/legal markets.
- Stability & Growth: Strong tenure profile demonstrating 4 to 5 years of continuous growth and established authority within a previous organization.
- Current Position: Currently reporting to a VP or C-suite executive, functioning as the immediate next-in-line sales leader.
- Work Location: In office position based out of our Gurgaon office. (Hard requirement – no remote/hybrid work arrangements).
