Role Description The Assistant Professor of Commerce (Statistics) will engage in full-time, on-site teaching and academic responsibilities at the Bengaluru campus. Day-to-day tasks include delivering lectures in commerce and statistics, designing and updating course materials, guiding tutorials and practical sessions, and evaluating student performance through assignments, projects, and examinations. The role involves mentoring students on academic and career development, supervising research or applied projects where relevant, and contributing to curriculum development that aligns with contemporary industry and academic standards.

Professor will participate in departmental meetings, academic committees, and university initiatives,



and is expected to pursue scholarly activities such as research, publications, and conference participation.

Qualifications

- Advanced academic background in Commerce with specialization in Statistics (Ph.D, Master’s degree such as M.Sc. in Statistics and B.Sc. in statistics is mandatory
- Proficiency in using MS Excel, Power BI ,tally and SPSS software
- Demonstrated teaching aptitude, with the ability to design clear lesson plans, deliver engaging lectures, and assess student learning effectively at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels.
- Evidence of academic or applied research activity in commerce, statistics, or related domains, with potential or existing publications, conference presentations, or industry projects.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, support learners from diverse backgrounds, and contribute positively to departmental culture.
- Commitment to ethical academic practices, student mentoring, and continuous professional development in teaching methods and subject expertise.
- Familiarity with modern educational technologies, learning management systems, and innovative pedagogy (e.g., case-based learning, data-driven projects) will be an added advantage.
- Prior experience in higher education teaching or relevant industry experience in analytics, finance, or commerce-related roles is highly beneficial.
