Company Description Charotar University of Science and Technology (CHARUSAT) is a not-for-profit private university in Gujarat, established under the Gujarat Private University Act, 2009 and empowered to confer degrees under Section 22 of the UGC Act, 1956. It offers around 64 programs from undergraduate to Ph.D. levels across disciplines such as Technology and Engineering, Pharmacy, Computer Applications, Management Studies, Applied Sciences, Nursing, Physiotherapy, and other Paramedical Sciences. Role Description The Assistant Professor role at CHARUSAT is a full-time, on-site position based in Vadodara. The role involves designing and delivering semester-based courses in the assigned discipline, preparing lesson plans, and conducting lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions in English.
The Assistant
Professor will assess student performance using credit and grading systems, guide students in projects and research, and provide academic advising and mentoring.
Responsibilities also include participating in curriculum development,
contributing to departmental and university committees, engaging in research and publication activities, and supporting outreach and extension programs aligned with CHARUSAT’s social and rural education initiatives. The role requires active involvement in continuous career development, collaboration with colleagues, and adherence to the university’s ethical and value-based framework.
Qualifications
- Relevant postgraduate degree (e.g., Master’s) in the applicable discipline; Ph.D. or evidence of doctoral progress is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated expertise in teaching and academic delivery, including lesson planning, classroom instruction, and student assessment using credit and grading systems.
- Proven ability or strong potential to conduct research, publish in peer-reviewed journals, and contribute to funded projects or consultancy assignments.
- Strong communication skills in English, including clear lecturing, academic writing, and effective interaction with students and colleagues.
- Commitment to student mentoring, academic advising, and supporting diverse learners in a value-based, inclusive educational environment.
- Capacity to contribute to curriculum development, program review, and innovation in pedagogy aligned with societal and industry needs.
- Ability to collaborate in departmental and institutional committees, participate in outreach initiatives, and support rural or community-oriented education programs.
