1. Job Purpose
To lead and manage the Quality function of the organization by ensuring that incoming materials, manufacturing processes, and finished components conform to customer specifications, applicable standards, drawings, and internal quality requirements. The Manager – Quality shall be responsible for establishing, implementing, and continuously improving the Quality Management System (QMS), reducing rejection and rework, improving customer satisfaction, and ensuring compliance with applicable standards and statutory requirements.
1. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Quality Assurance & Quality Control
- Plan, implement, and monitor Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities across the organization.
- Ensure compliance with customer drawings, specifications, quality standards, and inspection requirements.
- Establish and maintain inspection and testing procedures for incoming, in-process, and final inspection.
- Review and approve Inspection & Test Plans (ITP), Control Plans, Process Flow Charts, PFMEA, and related quality documents.
- Monitor critical quality characteristics and ensure effective process controls.
- Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of inspection, measuring, and test equipment.
- Review inspection reports, test certificates, material certificates, and quality records.
B. Manufacturing Process Quality
- Monitor process performance and identify areas requiring corrective or preventive action.
- Analyze rejection, rework, scrap, and customer complaints and initiate appropriate corrective actions.
- Establish process capability and control methods for critical operations.
- Coordinate with Production and Engineering departments to eliminate recurring quality issues.
- Implement statistical quality control and other appropriate quality improvement techniques.
C. Customer Quality
- Act as the primary Quality contact for customers and customer inspection agencies.
- Handle customer complaints, quality concerns, inspection observations, and non-conformities.
- Prepare and submit Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Corrective Action / Preventive Action (CAPA), 8D reports, and other customer-required responses.
- Coordinate customer inspections, audits, source inspections, and quality-related visits.
- Monitor customer rejection and complaint trends and implement corrective measures.
D. Supplier Quality
- Monitor the quality performance of suppliers and subcontractors.
- Review supplier inspection reports, Material Test Certificates (MTC), test reports, and other quality documentation.
- Coordinate supplier corrective actions for rejected or non-conforming materials.
- Conduct or coordinate supplier audits where required.
- Work with Purchase and Stores departments to ensure only approved and conforming materials are received and used.
E. QMS / ISO Compliance
- Establish, implement, maintain, and continually improve the Quality Management System.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and applicable customer-specific requirements.
- Plan and coordinate internal audits, surveillance audits, certification audits, and customer audits.
- Monitor closure of audit non-conformities and observations within agreed timelines.
- Maintain quality procedures, work instructions, formats, records, and documented information.
- Conduct or coordinate Management Review activities and monitor Quality Objectives.
F. Non-Conforming Product Control
- Ensure effective identification, segregation, disposition, and control of non-conforming materials and components.
- Review rejection reports and coordinate Material Review / disposition activities.
- Prevent unintended use or dispatch of non-conforming products.
- Monitor rework, repair, concession, and deviation approvals.
G. Quality Improvement
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce:
- Internal rejection
- Customer rejection
- Rework
- Scrap
- Process variation
- Inspection delays
- Establish measurable Quality Objectives and monitor performance against targets.
- Use appropriate problem-solving tools such as 5 Why, Fishbone Analysis, Pareto Analysis, 8D, SPC, and CAPA.
- Lead quality improvement projects in coordination with Production, Engineering, Purchase, and Maintenance.
H. Inspection & Testing
- Ensure availability and proper utilization of inspection and testing facilities.
- Supervise CMM, dimensional inspection, hardness testing, surface inspection, case-depth measurement, and other applicable inspection activities.
- Ensure inspection equipment is calibrated and traceable to national/international standards.
- Review critical measurement results before release of components.
- Ensure proper preservation and traceability of inspection records.
I. Team Management
- Lead, train, and develop Quality Engineers, Inspectors, CMM Operators, and other Quality personnel.
- Allocate responsibilities and monitor individual and departmental performance.
- Conduct training on quality procedures, inspection methods, drawing interpretation, measuring instruments, and customer requirements.
- Promote a quality culture throughout the organization.

1. Authority
The Manager – Quality shall have authority to:
- Stop or hold production/dispatch where significant quality risks are identified.
- Reject non-conforming materials or components.
- Approve inspection and quality records within delegated authority.
- Recommend supplier rejection or corrective action.
- Initiate corrective and preventive actions.
- Escalate critical quality issues to senior management.
- Recommend process improvements and quality-related investments.
1. Qualification
Essential:
- Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Metallurgy, or a related engineering discipline.
- Qualification or training in Quality Management / ISO 9001 is preferred.
1. Experience
- Minimum 8–12 years of relevant experience in Quality Assurance / Quality Control in an engineering or manufacturing organization.
- Experience in precision machining, automotive components, diesel engine components, heavy engineering, or railway/defence components will be preferred.
- Experience in customer audits, supplier audits, ISO audits, CMM inspection, and problem-solving methodologies is desirable.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
