Job Summary

We are looking for a Procurement & Purchasing qualified for the position of Assistant Manager / Manager. The candidate will be responsible for procurement activities, supplier coordination, material planning, purchase orders, SAP transactions, inventory management, and procurement documentation.

The candidate will work closely with PPC, Engineering, Quality, Stores, Logistics, Finance, and Production teams to ensure timely availability of materials at the right quality, quantity, cost, and delivery schedule.

Key Responsibilities

1. Procurement & Purchasing

- Source, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery, and reliability.
- Issue Purchase Orders (POs) according to production requirements and supplier lead times.
- Track POs, obtain supplier confirmations, and follow up on deliveries.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.

2. Supplier Management

- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance related to quality, delivery timelines, and pricing compliance.
- Coordinate with suppliers to resolve delivery, quality, and commercial issues.

3. Inventory & Material Planning

- Coordinate with PPC to ensure timely availability of required materials.
- Monitor inventory levels and avoid overstocking or stock-outs.
- Manage safety stock, reorder levels,



and supplier lead times.
- Support material planning based on production requirements.

4. Documentation & Compliance

- Maintain procurement records, purchase orders, supplier documents, and contracts.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, ISO standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Support internal and external procurement-related audits.

5. Cross-Functional Coordination

- Work closely with Engineering, Quality, Stores, Logistics, Finance, PPC, and Production teams.
- Participate in New Product Development (NPD) activities and support early supplier involvement.
- Assist in resolving material shortages, non-conformances, and supplier claims.

6. SAP System Responsibilities

- Process Purchase Requisitions (PRs), Purchase Orders (POs), Goods Receipt Notes (GRNs), and Return-to-Supplier transactions in SAP.
- Maintain and update vendor master data, material master data, and pricing conditions.
- Generate procurement-related MIS reports from SAP.
- Coordinate with the IT/SAP team to resolve SAP-related errors and issues.

7. Coordination & Communication

- Coordinate with PPC to align procurement activities with production schedules.
- Coordinate with the Quality team for material inspection, rejection handling,



and supplier quality issues.
- Communicate with suppliers regarding delivery schedules, documentation, quality, and compliance.
- Support internal stakeholders during ISO, IATF, and other audits.

Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Good knowledge of procurement processes and supply chain concepts.
- Vendor management and supplier development skills.
- Strong analytical and cost-management abilities.
- Good problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings is preferred.
- Experience in manufacturing/automotive procurement is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with SAP / SAP MM or other ERP systems.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel and procurement MIS reporting.

Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Relevant experience in procurement/purchasing within the manufacturing or automotive industry.
- Knowledge of SAP MM / Procurement Module will be an added advantage.
