Job Type: Full-Time Department: Fine Arts Reports To: Principal / Head of Department School Overview We are a premier, global-level educational institution committed to fostering innovation, creativity, and critical thinking. While our campus is highly tech-driven and equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, we deeply value holistic education. We believe that hands-on, traditional artistic expression is essential to grounding our students and nurturing their imagination in a fast-paced, digital world.
Position Overview We are seeking an exceptionally talented and passionate Art and Craft Teacher to lead our traditional fine arts program. The ideal candidate will provide a vital tactile and creative outlet for our students, teaching them to work expertly with physical materials. You will inspire students to explore global cultures through traditional crafts, helping them develop fine motor skills, spatial awareness, and an appreciation for physical aesthetics that complements their high-tech academic environment.
Key Responsibilities Progressive Curriculum Development: Design and deliver a comprehensive traditional art and craft curriculum aligned with global educational frameworks (such as CBSE).
Mastery of Traditional Mediums: Instruct students in a wide variety of hands-on techniques, including sketching, watercolor and acrylic painting, ceramics, sculpting, paper crafting (origami/papier-mâché), textile arts, and sustainable crafting.
Global Cultural Exploration: Introduce students to diverse global art histories, traditional indigenous crafts, and classical movements, fostering an inclusive perspective on world heritage.
Studio Management: Maintain an organized, safe, and inspiring physical art studio. Manage inventory for all art supplies, ensuring students have access to high-quality, sustainable materials. Exhibition & Curation: Organize, design, and curate high-profile physical art exhibitions, campus installations, and interactive showcases that celebrate student achievements with the wider school community.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments (including STEM) to bring physical design, aesthetic principles, and tactile prototyping into cross-curricular projects.
Required Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Fine Arts (BFA/MFA), Art Education, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of experience teaching traditional art and craft in a progressive or international school environment.
Pedagogical Knowledge: Deep understanding of student-centered teaching methodologies, differentiated instruction, and global assessment standards in the arts. Core Competencies &
Skills Exceptional, demonstrably high-level proficiency in multiple traditional art and craft forms. Strong understanding of sustainability in art (e.g., using recycled or eco-friendly materials). Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex artistic concepts to diverse age groups.
Ability to create a calm, focused, and deeply creative classroom atmosphere that serves as a counterbalance to screen-heavy learning. Passion for mentoring students and guiding them in building physical, traditional art portfolios.
What We Offer A highly cooperative and supportive working environment. Access to fully equipped, spacious, and naturally lit physical art studios. Competitive compensation packages and comprehensive benefits. A generous budget for high-quality art supplies and crafting materials.
