The Project Engineer &
- Architect (Healthcare Construction) is responsible for leading the design, engineering coordination, and construction oversight of healthcare facilities. This role ensures that medical buildings are structurally sound, compliant with stringent healthcare regulations, and optimized for patient care, clinical workflows, and advanced medical equipment integration.Key ResponsibilitiesArchitectural Design &
- Planning
- Develop and refine architectural blueprints and layouts specifically tailored for healthcare environments (e.g., operating theaters, ICUs, radiology rooms, and patient wards).
- Optimize clinical workflows to ensure efficient movement of patients, medical staff, and equipment.
- Integrate specialized MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) requirements, such as medical gas pipelines, specialized HVAC for infection control (HEPA filtration, negative pressure rooms), and radiation shielding.
Project Engineering &
- Technical Coordination
- Manage technical coordination between structural, civil, mechanical, and electrical engineering teams.
- Review, approve, and manage shop drawings, structural calculations, and Technical Specifications.
- Solve engineering bottlenecks on-site, ensuring modifications do not compromise architectural intent or healthcare compliance.
Regulatory Compliance &
- Quality Assurance
- Ensure strict adherence to healthcare building codes and standards (e.g., AIA guidelines, NFPA 101 Life Safety Code, Joint Commission standards, or local healthcare authority regulations).
- Enforce rigorous quality control protocols specific to sterile and high-risk environments.
- Oversee testing and commissioning of critical hospital infrastructure (e.g., backup power systems,
isolation room seals, and medical gas lines).
Project Management &
- Stakeholder Collaboration
- Act as the primary liaison between hospital administration, medical staff, contractors, and external vendors.
- Manage project timelines, milestones, and budgeting for construction phases.
- Supervise equipment installation and coordinate the fit-out of heavy medical machinery (e.g., MRI machines, CT scanners, and linear accelerators).
Required Qualifications &
- SkillsEducation &
- Licensure
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management.
- Valid Professional License (e.g., Registered Architect or Qualified Engineer).
Experience
- Minimum of 5–8 years of experience in construction project engineering or architecture.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale healthcare or hospital projects.
Technical Skills &
- Expertise
- Software proficiency: Expert knowledge of BIM (Building Information Modeling), Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, and project management tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
- Specialized knowledge: Deep understanding of healthcare design principles, infection control risk assessments (ICRA), and medical gas/electrical isolation safety systems.
Educational Qualification:Graduate/Diploma-Civil/Mechanical/Electrical
Soft Skills
- Strong leadership and multi-disciplinary team management capabilities.
- Exceptional communication skills to translate complex technical concepts into clear instructions for builders and hospital executives alike.
