Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Full Stack Android Developer with strong expertise in Android application development and hands-on experience with backend technologies, REST APIs, databases and third-party integrations.

The candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining and enhancing the EkMantra Customer App, Service Provider App and related backend services.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable working independently, understanding existing codebases, fixing production issues, developing new features and collaborating with product, design and business teams.

Key Responsibilities

Android Development

- Design, develop and maintain Android applications using Kotlin and/or Java, Flutter .
- Develop new features for EkMantra Customer and Service Provider applications.
- Implement modern Android UI/UX following Material Design and Android development best practices.
- Integrate REST APIs and handle API responses, authentication and error handling.
- Implement push notifications using Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM).
- Implement location/GPS and map-based functionality where required.
- Integrate payment gateways and other third-party SDKs.
- Optimize applications for performance, stability and battery usage.
- Debug crashes, ANRs, memory leaks and other application issues.
- Prepare applications for Google Play Store releases and production deployments.

Backend & API Development
- Develop and maintain backend APIs required by Android applications.
- Work with RESTful APIs and JSON-based communication.
- Implement authentication, authorization and secure API communication.
- Develop business logic for booking, service provider assignment, order/service status and customer workflows.
- Integrate third-party services such as payment gateways, SMS, WhatsApp, maps and notification services.
- Work with databases and optimize queries where required.
- Troubleshoot backend and API-related production issues.

Database & Server




- Work with MySQL/PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.
- Design and maintain database tables, relationships and queries.
- Understand server-side deployment and application configuration.
- Work with Linux-based servers and basic server troubleshooting.
- Monitor application/API performance and resolve production issues.

Development & Maintenance
- Understand existing EkMantra source code and architecture.
- Fix bugs and implement feature enhancements.
- Participate in requirement analysis, technical design and development.
- Write clean, maintainable and reusable code.
- Perform code reviews and follow Git-based development practices.
- Maintain proper documentation for APIs, modules and technical changes.
- Work closely with the product and business teams to convert requirements into working features.

Required Skills

Must Have

- 25 years of professional software development experience.
- Strong hands-on experience in Android development.
- Strong knowledge of Kotlin and/or Java.
- Experience with Android Studio, Gradle and Android SDK.
- Strong understanding of REST APIs and JSON.
- Experience with API integration and backend development.
- Good knowledge of MySQL/PostgreSQL or similar databases.
- Experience with Firebase, especially FCM, Authentication and Crashlytics.
- Good knowledge of Git/GitHub/GitLab.
- Experience with third-party SDK and API integrations.
- Good debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of application security and secure API communication.

Good to Have




- Experience with Node.js / PHP / Python / Java Spring Boot or similar backend technologies.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, Google Cloud or other cloud platforms.
- Experience with payment gateway integration.
- Experience with Google Maps / location-based services.
- Experience with SMS/WhatsApp API integration.
- Experience with Docker and CI/CD.
- Experience publishing and maintaining applications on Google Play Store.
- Experience working on service marketplace, e-commerce, booking or delivery applications.
- Knowledge of Flutter/React Native is an added advantage.

Education
- B.Tech / B.E. / MCA / BCA / equivalent qualification in Computer Science, IT or a related field.
- Solid practical development experience can be considered in place of formal qualifications.
