Role Description The AI Filmmaker / AI Video Director is a full-time remote role responsible for conceptualizing, directing, and producing video content using AI-assisted tools and workflows. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing story concepts, writing scripts, planning visual narratives, and overseeing end-to-end video production from pre-production through post-production. The role involves directing AI-generated footage, coordinating virtual production elements, and refining edits to align with brand strategies and campaign objectives.

The AI Filmmaker / AI Video Director will collaborate closely with designers, strategists, and technologists to integrate video content into broader brand experiences and ensure consistent quality and messaging across all deliverables.

Make films with cameras that don't exist.

Brandhero is looking for an AI Filmmaker / Generative Video Director who can combine strong filmmaking skills with generative AI to create high quality commercial films, brand stories, and visual experiences.

This is not a prompt only role, and it is not simply an AI video editing role.

We are looking for someone who thinks like a director first and an AI creator second.

You should understand story, composition, camera movement, lighting, pacing, editing, sound, colour, and visual language, and know how to use AI to turn an idea into a polished final film.

We care about what you can create, not how many AI tools you can list on your CV.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

- Take films from idea to final cut
- Develop concepts, scripts, and visual directions.
- Plan shots and sequences before generating.




- Take projects from concept to generation to edit to final film.
- Direct AI generated visuals
- Design shots with intentional camera movement, composition, lighting, and framing.
- Create cinematic visuals rather than random generations.
- Maintain a consistent visual language throughout the film.
- Maintain continuity
- Keep characters, products, environments, wardrobe, lighting, and visual style consistent across scenes.
- Identify and fix continuity problems instead of accepting the first usable generation.
- Pay close attention to small visual details that affect the quality of the final film.
- Use the right AI tools

You may work with tools such as:

Kling, Veo, Runway, Midjourney, and other emerging AI video and image tools.

You do not need to know every tool.

What matters is that you:

- Have hands-on experience with multiple generative AI tools.
- Understand the strengths and limitations of different tools.
- Can learn recent tools quickly when a project requires them.
- Know when to generate, regenerate, edit, or stop generating.
- Can choose the right tool based on the creative requirement.
- Finish the film
- Edit footage and AI generated assets.
- Handle pacing, transitions, sound, and colour.
- Turn individual generations into a coherent final film.
- Deliver polished work that is ready to present to a client.
- Build repeatable workflows
- Develop practical AI filmmaking workflows that the studio can reuse.
- Document useful processes and learnings.
- Experiment with new tools, techniques, and workflows.
- Improve the process as new AI capabilities become available.
- Collaborate

Work closely with designers, writers, and technologists to turn ideas into finished commercial work.

You should be able to:

- Create a clear visual story.




- Make intentional creative decisions.
- Maintain character and product consistency across scenes.
- Fix weak generations instead of hiding them.
- Understand when AI is helping and when traditional filmmaking or editing is better.
- Turn multiple AI generated shots into one convincing film.
- Explain why you made a particular creative decision.

WHAT WE CARE ABOUT

We care much less about the number of AI tools you have tried.

Knowing 10 tools without being able to make one strong film is not valuable to us.

Knowing 3 or 4 tools deeply and being able to learn whatever the project requires is much more valuable.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

- Strong visual storytelling and understanding of filmmaking.
- Experience with film direction, scripting, shot design, or visual direction.
- Experience taking projects from idea to finished output.
- Strong understanding of editing, pacing, sound, and colour.
- Hands on experience with generative AI video and image tools.
- Strong attention to detail and visual consistency.
- Willingness to experiment and learn new tools quickly.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Strong problem solving and creative judgment.
- A portfolio of finished films, commercials, brand stories, or strong experimental visual work.

A film, media, or design degree is welcome, but your work matters more than your degree.

THIS ROLE MAY NOT BE FOR YOU IF...

- You mainly want to collect AI tools rather than make films.
- Your portfolio is mostly prompts, screenshots, or unfinished generations.
- You accept the first good looking generation without refining it.
- You do not enjoy fixing continuity and visual inconsistencies.
- You cannot explain your own contribution to the work you submit.
- You need constant supervision to move a project forward.
- You are not willing to learn new tools as the technology changes.
- You care more about AI than about making a good film.
