Position Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to manage the company's day-to-day accounting and financial operations.
The candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate books of accounts, managing accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, taxation and compliance, inventory-related accounting, export documentation, and preparation of financial reports.
The ideal candidate should have practical experience in manufacturing and/or trading businesses , with a good understanding of GST, TDS, income tax, export transactions, inventory accounting, and financial reporting .
Key Responsibilities1. Accounting & Bookkeeping
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date books of accounts.
- Record and verify daily financial transactions.
- Manage general ledger, journal entries, and supporting documentation.
- Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Ensure proper classification and recording of expenses and income.
- Monitor outstanding receivables and payables.
1. Bank & Cash Management
- Perform regular bank reconciliations.
- Record and verify bank transactions.
- Monitor cash and bank balances.
- Track customer receipts and supplier payments.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies between bank records and books of accounts.
1. GST & Tax Compliance
- Assist in preparation and filing of GST returns .
- Maintain GST purchase and sales records.
- Reconcile purchase and sales data with GST records.
- Handle TDS calculations, payments, and returns .
- Assist with income-tax-related accounting and documentation.
- Ensure proper maintenance of tax records and supporting documents.
1. Export Accounting
- Maintain accounting records for export transactions.
- Record export invoices, receipts, expenses, freight, and other export-related transactions.
- Maintain records relating to export receivables and foreign currency transactions.
- Assist with reconciliation of export proceeds and outstanding export bills.
- Coordinate with banks, logistics teams, CHA/customs agents, and internal departments where required.
- Maintain proper documentation for export-related accounting and compliance.
1. Inventory & Cost Accounting
- Maintain accurate accounting records for inventory and stock movements.
- Coordinate with purchase, sales, stores, and production teams for accurate transaction recording.
- Assist in monitoring raw material, finished goods, and trading inventory.
- Support inventory reconciliation and stock verification.
- Assist in calculating product costs, margins, and variances.
- Identify discrepancies between physical stock and accounting records.
1. Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Process supplier invoices and verify supporting documents.
- Maintain supplier ledgers and payment schedules.
- Track customer outstanding balances and collection status.
- Prepare receivables and payables ageing reports.
- Follow up internally on overdue customer payments.
- Reconcile customer and supplier accounts regularly.
1. Financial Reporting
- Prepare periodic financial reports for management.
- Assist in preparation of Profit & Loss Account, Balance Sheet, and cash-flow reports.
- Prepare sales, purchase, expense, receivables, and payables reports.
- Conduct basic financial and variance analysis.
- Provide accurate financial information to management for decision-making.
1. Audit & Compliance Support
- Assist in statutory, tax, and internal audits.
- Maintain proper vouchers, invoices, ledgers, and supporting documentation.
- Provide required information and schedules to auditors.
- Ensure accounting records are complete, accurate, and properly documented.
1. Budgeting & Management Reporting
- Assist management in preparing budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor actual expenditure against budgets.
- Prepare variance reports and highlight significant deviations.
- Provide financial data and analysis to support business decisions.
1. Coordination
- Work closely with Sales, Purchase, Stores, Production, Logistics, and Management .
- Ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately and on time.
- Resolve accounting discrepancies with relevant departments.
- Maintain smooth financial workflows across the organization.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, or a related field .
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping.
- Practical knowledge of GST, TDS, taxation, and statutory compliance .
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation, and general ledger management .
- Good understanding of inventory and cost accounting .
- Knowledge of export accounting and foreign-currency transactions is preferred.
- Proficiency in Tally/ERP/accounting software .
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel , including formulas, reconciliation, and financial reporting.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and coordination abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Preferred Experience Candidates with 2–5 years of relevant experience in accounting, preferably in:
- Manufacturing companies
- Trading companies
- Export-oriented businesses
- Electrical/electronic product companies
- Import/export businesses
Experience with inventory accounting, GST, export documentation, and foreign-currency transactions will be an added advantage. CA / CMA / M.Com / equivalent professional qualification will be considered an advantage.
