Freelancing Opportunity :- We are hiring AI Research Engineer – Machine Learning for a short-term Frontier AI Research, Reinforcement Learning & Model Evaluation project across: India

Role: AI Research Engineer – Machine Learning

Experience: 7+ Years

Mode: Remote

Start: Immediate

Mandatory Eligibility Criteria

Technical Qualification:

- 7+ years of professional experience with significant research engineering experience in Machine Learning or Frontier AI
- PhD or Master’s degree in AI, Machine Learning, Computer Science, or a related technical field; equivalent research experience may be considered
- Strong foundations in Machine Learning with hands-on experience designing experiments, training models, evaluating models, or developing AI systems
- Research experience in one or more areas: Synthetic/Agentic Data Generation | Reinforcement Learning | Post-Training | Model Understanding | AI Evaluation | Benchmarks | AI Agents
- Strong Python programming skills and experience with contemporary AI/ML frameworks and tooling
- Strong understanding of experimental rigor, data quality, reproducibility, and evidence-based research
- Ability to independently investigate research questions, build prototypes, run experiments,



and analyze results
- Experience providing technical leadership and mentoring

Availability:

- Minimum 40 hours/week
- At least 8 hours/day
- Minimum 4 hours overlap with PST business hours

What You’ll Work On:

- Research capabilities, limitations, and training methods of frontier AI systems
- Develop datasets, experiments, prototypes, tooling, and evaluation frameworks
- Explore synthetic data, agentic data generation, RL, post-training, model understanding, benchmarks, and evaluation
- Train, test, and evaluate AI models using modern ML tools
- Analyze experimental results and generate evidence-based technical insights
- Develop AI environments for coding agents, computer-use/browser-use agents, and tool/function-calling agents
- Translate research findings into scalable AI products and applications
- Collaborate with Research, Engineering, Product, and Operations teams
- Contribute to technical reports, publications, open-source projects, workshops, or conferences where appropriate
