Role Description As an Abroad Counsellor (Freelance) at Origo Abroad, you will provide full-time remote guidance to students exploring international education opportunities. You will conduct online counselling sessions, assess students’ academic interests and goals, and recommend suitable universities, programs, and destinations using Origo Abroad’s AI platform and your expertise. Your day-to-day responsibilities include explaining admission processes, timelines, and documentation requirements, supporting students with applications and statements of purpose, and advising on scholarships and education financing options.

You will maintain accurate records of student interactions, collaborate with internal teams to improve counselling workflows,



and uphold high standards of ethics and transparency in all guidance provided. This is a fully remote role, requiring consistent availability during agreed-upon hours and proactive communication with students and the Origo Abroad team.

Qualifications

- Strong counselling and advisory skills with experience guiding students or professionals on education or career pathways.
- Excellent communication skills, including explicit written and spoken English, active listening, and the ability to explain complex processes simply.
- Knowledge of international education systems, admission processes, and popular study destinations; prior study abroad or counselling experience is highly beneficial.
- Comfort using digital tools and online platforms for video calls, messaging, documentation, and CRM or student management systems.
- Ability to work independently in a remote, freelance setting, manage multiple student cases, and meet timelines and service standards.
- High level of professionalism, cultural sensitivity, and commitment to non-discriminatory, student-centered guidance.
- Bachelor’s degree in education, counselling, international relations, or a related field preferred; relevant certifications in counselling or career guidance are an advantage.
