Academic & Career Counsellor

Job Description

Vidysea Education Pvt. Ltd. is looking for an experienced Academic & Career Counsellor with a strong background in school-based counselling. The role involves guiding students from Grades VIIIXII across CBSE, ICSE, IB, IGCSE and other curricula in making informed decisions about subjects, streams, careers and higher education.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct individual and group counselling sessions for students in Grades VIIIXII.
- Help students identify their interests, strengths, aptitudes, values and learning preferences.
- Guide students in selecting appropriate subjects and streams for Grades IX–XII.
- Align academic choices, extracurricular activities and profile-building initiatives with future career goals.
- Explain Indian and international education pathways, competitive examinations and emerging careers.
- Counsel parents on students’ assessment results, academic options and career-development plans.
- Design personalised profile-building roadmaps.
- Recommend suitable internships, summer programmes, competitions, certifications, volunteering and extracurricular activities.
- Administer and interpret psychometric assessments, including personality, aptitude, interest, learning-style and values-based tests.
- Convert assessment outcomes into clear and actionable guidance plans.
- Maintain counselling records and track students’ progress and outcomes.

Preferred Candidate Profile

- Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology, Psychology, Education or a related discipline.




- 5–7 years of relevant experience, preferably in K–12 school or academic counselling.
- Certification or proven experience in administering and interpreting psychometric assessments.
- Familiarity with CBSE, ICSE, IB and IGCSE curricula.
- Knowledge of Indian and international universities, admissions and education pathways.
- Experience using career-guidance platforms and digital assessment tools.
- Strong communication, presentation, reporting and relationship-management skills.
- Demonstrated success in stream selection, career guidance and student development.
