About the Role
Sorta Famous is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to independently manage the company's day-to-day accounts, invoicing, bookkeeping and financial records.
This will primarily be a remote role, with the requirement to visit the Mumbai office once a week for reviews, documentation and coordination.
We are looking for someone who understands accounts end-to-end, can independently maintain accurate financial records and work closely with our CA for statutory filings, audits and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
• Maintain complete and accurate books of accounts and ensure entries are updated regularly.
• Raise client invoices and maintain proper records of invoices issued.
• Track receivables and outstanding client payments and maintain ageing reports.
• Record and track all business expenses, vendor invoices, reimbursements and payments.
• Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable records.
• Prepare and maintain monthly sales, expense and revenue reports.




• Carry out regular bank reconciliation and ledger reconciliation.
• Maintain supporting documentation for all transactions.
• Coordinate with the company's CA for GST, TDS, tax filings and statutory compliances.
• Prepare and organise books, ledgers, invoices and supporting documents for audits.
• Coordinate internal and statutory audits and resolve accounting queries independently.
• Maintain GST-related records and ensure invoices and accounting entries are correctly recorded for compliance purposes.
• Keep track of vendor payments, employee reimbursements and company expenses.
• Flag discrepancies, overdue payments or missing documentation proactively.
• Provide management with accurate financial reports and information whenever required.
• Ensure the company's accounts remain organised, updated and audit-ready throughout the year.

What We're Looking For
• 5–10 years of relevant accounting experience.
