Job Description
Festivals From India is hiring on behalf of their client, the Museum of Contemporary Art Ahmedabad, for the position of Museum Associate – Visitor Experience & Engagement. The role involves creating engaging and informed experiences for diverse museum audiences, leading exhibition walkthroughs, engaging with patrons, collectors, students and institutional groups, and supporting exhibitions, programmes and digital communications. The ideal candidate should have prior experience in a museum, gallery or cultural organisation, along with strong communication skills and a keen interest in contemporary art.

- The vetting process for this role comprises 2–3 rounds of interviews and may be followed by a brief assignment.

- This is an on-site, full-time position based in Ahmedabad.
- The salary band is available upon request.
Requirements
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Art History, Museum Studies, Visual Arts, Humanities, Cultural Studies, Communications, or a related field.
- Strong interest and working knowledge of contemporary art, visual culture and museum practices.
- Excellent spoken and written English, with strong presentation and communication abilities.
- Additional Indian language proficiency, particularly Gujarati or Hindi, would be an advantage.
- Basic familiarity with digital platforms, social media and website content management.
Essential Experience:
- 2–3+ years of relevant professional experience in a museum, gallery, art institution,
cultural organisation or related environment.
- Prior experience in visitor engagement, gallery operations, art education, public programming, client engagement or institutional relations.
- Experience conducting or assisting with museum/gallery walkthroughs, presentations, guided tours or public-facing programmes.
- Experience interacting with diverse stakeholders, including patrons, collectors, students, institutional groups, corporate clients and cultural partners.
- Exposure to working collaboratively with curators, artists, galleries, cultural institutions or external partners.
- Experience supporting events, exhibitions, programmes or other cultural activities is desirable.

Requirements
Essential Qualifications: MA History of Art or MA Museology, Conservation of Art/Heritage, BFA/MFA, or MSc. In Chemistry from a recognised University Strong communication skills, with written and verbal proficiency in English Knowledge of at least one vernacular Indian language is ideal Competency in using IT systems, particularly Microsoft Excel, Word, and Powerpoint Essential Experience: 3-5 years of experience, ideally with an art gallery, museum or a private art collection Prior experience working with mixed media, managing physical artworks Prior experience working for a structured company Key Personal Attributes & Skills: Creative individual with drive, sincerity and ability to work efficiently and accurately according to instruction Ability to collaborate and work with a team to achieve common goals Highly organised and detail-oriented with good observation skills Values of adaptability and sincerity are critical A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making skills Conscientious attitude with the ability to handle precious objects with care Good time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
