Scientific Computing / Research Engineering Expert — Earth Sciences
We’re looking for Earth Sciences experts to work on a 5-week remote contractor assignment developing realistic scientific computing and terminal-based benchmark tasks for AI systems.

Role: Scientific Computing / Research Engineering Expert — Earth Sciences
Location: Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Indonesia, Egypt, Ghana, Nigeria, Turkey, Brazil, Colombia
Engagement: 5 weeks
Start Date: Immediate
Commitment: 40 hours/week with 4 hours of PST overlap per day
Compensation:
• Approximately $37.50–$50/hour based on an average task handling time of 6–8 hours
• $300 per approved task
• Rates are in USD and will be converted to your local currency

What we’re looking for:
• PhD in Earth Sciences or a closely related field
• Expertise in climate science, atmospheric science, geophysics, oceanography, geology, hydrology, remote sensing, environmental modeling, or Earth-system science
• Solid programming skills in Python, R, Julia, Bash, C/C++, MATLAB/Octave, or similar tools




• Experience with scientific data processing, numerical modeling, geospatial analysis, or time-series analysis
• Comfortable working in Linux/terminal-based environments
• Ability to build, debug, and validate reproducible scientific workflows

Preferred experience:
• NumPy, pandas, SciPy, xarray, rasterio, GeoPandas, Cartopy, GDAL, or similar tools
• NetCDF, HDF5, GeoTIFF, shapefiles, or GRIB data
• Climate, weather, satellite, seismic, oceanographic, geological, or hydrological datasets
• Docker, Conda, Git, CI/CD, automated testing, or HPC environments
The work involves creating scientific tasks, preparing datasets, developing computational workflows, defining objective grading criteria, and validating scientific outputs for AI evaluation.
