The role You will own finance, tax, compliance and treasury end to end, reporting to the Director. This is a hands-on leadership role: you will set up the systems and controls yourself in the first few months, then build and lead a small team.

What you will do

- Set up the books, chart of accounts, monthly close and MIS for a software licensing business
- Own direct and indirect tax compliance: TDS, GST, advance tax, returns, reconciliations and notices - Establish the correct tax treatment for software licences, SaaS and third-party components, and document positions with advisors
- Manage revenue recognition, licence inventory and cost matching across customer and vendor contracts
- Run cash flow planning, vendor payment sequencing against customer receipts, and treasury for surplus funds
- Own payroll, employee tax, and labour law compliance
- Lead the statutory audit and tax audit, and manage relationships with auditors, tax advisors, company secretary and banks
- Maintain audit-ready documentation for every contract: purchase orders, invoices, proof of delivery and approvals
- Handle Companies Act compliance with the company secretary, including board approvals and related-party matters -

Review customer and vendor contracts for commercial, tax and payment terms before signing

- Support pricing, margin analysis and budgeting with the leadership team




- Represent the company in assessments, scrutiny proceedings and departmental queries

What we are looking for

- Chartered Accountant with 10 to 15 years of post-qualification experience
- At least 3 years leading finance in a software, SaaS or IT services company
- Deep working knowledge of TDS on software and technical services, GST input credit and e-invoicing, and the Income-tax Act, 2025 -

Direct experience handling tax scrutiny, GST audits or departmental notices through to closure

- Experience setting up finance processes in an early-stage or high-growth company
- Strong command of contracts, revenue recognition and working capital in high-value, low-volume B2B sales
- Comfortable doing the work personally as well as directing others
- Explicit, direct communicator who will tell leadership what they need to hear Good to have
- Company Secretary qualification or close experience with secretarial compliance
- Experience with fundraising, due diligence or investor reporting
- Exposure to cross-border software transactions and transfer pricing
