Cost Engineer – Casting & Forging

Experience: 3–7 years
Job Responsibilities
Prepare cost estimates for casting, forging, machining, and metal components.
Analyze raw material, tooling, machining, labor, overhead, and other manufacturing costs.
Review supplier quotations and compare costing.
Understand casting and forging manufacturing processes.
Calculate weight, material yield, scrap, machining allowance, and process costs.
Work with suppliers to negotiate and validate pricing.
Prepare cost sheets and commercial proposals.
Identify cost-saving opportunities.
Coordinate with engineering, sourcing, production, and suppliers.
Support RFQ costing and recent product development.
Required Skills
Experience in casting and forging costing.
Valuable knowledge of manufacturing processes.
Knowledge of machining and sheet/metal components is an advantage.
Robust Excel and cost-analysis skills.
Ability to read engineering drawings.
Knowledge of raw material and manufacturing rates.
Good communication and negotiation skills.
Preferred Background
Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical or Production Engineering.
Experience in automotive, engineering components, manufacturing, sourcing, or supplier development.
