Key Responsibilities
Perform Zero-Based Costing (ZBC) for casting, forging, sheet metal, fabrication, alloy steel, and hardware components.
Conduct should costing and cost estimation for recent product development and engineering change requests (ECNs).
Prepare and analyze Bill of Materials (BOM) costing for accurate budgeting.
Calculate machine hour rates, tooling costs, and manufacturing norms through physical verification and process analysis.
Drive cost reduction initiatives using VAVE (Value Analysis & Value Engineering), benchmarking, and supplier resourcing.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Design, Purchase, and Manufacturing) to meet technical and commercial objectives.
Finalize manufacturing processes and cost norms with suppliers.
Ensure raw material indexing as per quarterly updates and market trends.
Analyze and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Conduct supplier visits for process validation and cost negotiation.
Key Skills & Competencies
Solid knowledge of product costing, ZBC, and should costing
Expertise in machining processes and manufacturing technologies
Experience with casting, forging, fabrication, and sheet metal components
Proficiency in MS Excel, and costing tools
Robust analytical and negotiation skills
Understanding of VAVE, benchmarking, and cost optimization techniques
