What you will do
Draw service boundaries that survive contact with a real roadmap, and document why they sit where they do.
Own API contracts, versioning policy and the event schema across services.
Lead strangler-fig migrations from monolith to services without a big-bang cutover.
Set the standards for resilience - timeouts, retries, circuit breakers, idempotency.
Review designs across teams and make the trade-offs explicit rather than implicit.

What we are looking for
7 years in Java, with several of them designing rather than only implementing.
Spring Boot and Spring Cloud at depth, including the failure modes.




Kafka or an equivalent event backbone in production, with a considered view on exactly-once claims.
Fluent in domain-driven design vocabulary and able to use it without hiding behind it.
Has run a migration that shipped incrementally and did not require a freeze.
