This role owns end-to-end payroll processing support for ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time each cycle while staying compliant with UK statutory requirements (PAYE, National Insurance, pension auto-enrolment). Success in this role looks like error free, on-time payroll runs, clean reconciliations, and a low volume of payroll queries reaching escalation.

The role sits within India's Managed Shared Services payroll team, supporting the client from

India.

Roles & Responsibilities:
Process monthly/weekly UK payroll end-to-end, covering current joiners, leavers, salary changes, bonuses and commission across functions
Calculate and process statutory deductions – PAYE, National Insurance, student loans and pension auto-enrolment (e.g., NEST) – and ensure timely RTI submissions to HMRC
Reconcile payroll reports against HR/HRIS data, resolve discrepancies, and prepare payroll journals for Finance
Administer starters/leavers documentation (P45/P60)



and support year-end payroll processes
Respond to employee payroll queries (payslips, deductions, tax codes) within agreed SLAs
Support internal and external audits with accurate documentation and reconciliations
Maintain payroll SOPs and identify prospects for process improvement and automation
Coordinate with UK-based HR and Finance teams, and the payroll platform provider, on system issues and processing calendars

Must have skills
4–6 years of hands-on UK payroll processing experience (not just India payroll)
Working knowledge of PAYE, National Insurance, pension auto-enrolment, RTI/FPS submissions and P11D/P60 processes
Hands-on experience with a payroll platform such as Sage, Xero, ADP or similar
Solid Excel and reconciliation skills, with high attention to detail
