Role Description This is a full time, on-site Piping Engineer role based in Chennai.

The Piping

Engineer will be responsible for designing piping systems, performing technical calculations, and conducting stress analysis to ensure safety, reliability, and compliance with standards. Day-to-day activities include reviewing project requirements, preparing and updating piping layouts and isometrics, coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering teams, and supporting the integration of design workflows into PipingLabs’ software ecosystem. The role involves evaluating materials and components,



resolving design issues during construction and commissioning phases, and contributing to continuous improvement of engineering practices and tools.

Qualifications
Strong proficiency in piping engineering fundamentals, including Piping Design and Piping layout for industrial and process systems.
Ability to perform engineering Calculations related to Pipe sizing, pressure drop, and code-compliant design.
Experience with Stress Analysis of piping systems, including flexibility checks and support design.
Familiarity with relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., ASME, ANSI, ISO) and EPC project workflows.
Proficiency in piping design software and CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, PDMS/E3D, SmartPlant, or similar).
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and safety considerations.
Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional engineering and software teams.
Interest in or experience with digital tools, SaaS platforms, and automation of engineering processes is an advantage.
