Role Description This is a full time remote role for a Shopify Automation Application Testing specialist with strong JavaScript/TypeScript and Playwright experience. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining automated test scripts for Shopify-based applications, ensuring functionality, performance, and reliability across different browsers and devices.

The specialist will create and execute test cases, analyze test results, identify defects, and collaborate with developers and product stakeholders to resolve issues. Daily responsibilities include troubleshooting automation failures, refining test coverage, updating test frameworks, and contributing to continuous improvement of quality assurance processes. The role also requires documenting testing activities,



following best practices in test automation, and aligning testing efforts with project timelines and priorities.

Qualifications
Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript, with hands-on experience using Playwright for end-to-end test automation.
Skills in Automation and Process Automation to design, implement, and optimize automated testing workflows for Shopify applications.
Experience creating and maintaining comprehensive Test Cases and following structured Quality Assurance practices.
Ability to perform effective Troubleshooting of test failures, application issues, and integration problems in complex environments.
Experience testing Shopify stores, themes, and apps, including API integrations and third-party plugins.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control tools (e.g., Git) for integrating automated tests into deployment workflows.
Solid analytical and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate in a remote, cross-functional team setting.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience with additional test frameworks or tools (e.g., Jest, Cypress, or similar) is an advantage.
