Role & responsibilities
Responsible for operation, monitoring and maintenance of HVAC systems, AHUs, FCUs, chillers, cooling towers, ventilation and exhaust systems.
Monitor and maintain critical HVAC parameters including temperature, relative humidity, differential pressure, air changes and pressure cascade as per defined specifications.
Execute preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance of HVAC equipment to ensure maximum system availability and minimum downtime.
Troubleshoot HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical and control-system related problems and ensure timely corrective actions.
Monitor HVAC systems through BMS and respond to alarms, abnormal trends and deviations within defined timelines.
Ensure proper functioning and maintenance of HEPA filters, pre-filters, dampers, motors, fans, coils, ducts and associated components.
Ensure HVAC systems operate in compliance with cGMP, SOPs, EHS and applicable regulatory requirements.
Support and execute HVAC qualification, requalification, validation and calibration activities, including IQ/OQ/PQ as applicable.
Maintain HVAC-related logbooks, checklists, PM records, breakdown reports, equipment history cards and other GMP documentation.
Coordinate with Production, QA,
QC and Engineering teams for HVAC-related activities, deviations, maintenance and environmental control requirements.
Coordinate with external vendors/AMC agencies for specialized maintenance, servicing, testing and calibration activities.
Ensure timely completion of preventive maintenance schedules and maintain adequate inventory of critical HVAC spares and consumables.
Participate in RCA, CAPA, deviation investigation and change-control activities related to HVAC systems.
Support internal and external audits by ensuring HVAC systems, records and documentation are maintained in an audit-ready condition.
Monitor HVAC energy consumption and identify opportunities for energy optimization and system efficiency improvement.
Ensure protected working practices, permit-to-work compliance, PPE usage and positive housekeeping in HVAC and utility areas.
Assist in installation, commissioning and modification of HVAC systems and review relevant technical documents, drawings and specifications.
Provide technical guidance and training to technicians/operators on HVAC operation, maintenance, GMP and safety requirements.
