Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end procurement activities for plant requirements covering Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation, CAPEX, OPEX, consumables, spares and services.
Handle domestic and import procurement, including coordination for import documentation, customs clearance, freight forwarders and logistics.
Identify, evaluate and develop current vendors/OEMs/authorized dealers to strengthen the supplier base.
Conduct RFQ, quotation analysis, commercial negotiation, vendor evaluation and order finalization to achieve optimum cost, quality and delivery.
Drive cost reduction, alternate vendor development and alternate product development initiatives.
Negotiate and finalize Annual/Long-Term Rate Contracts with OEMs and authorized suppliers.
Monitor market trends, supplier capabilities, material availability and price movements to ensure uninterrupted supply.
Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, Electrical, Instrumentation, Engineering, Projects,



Stores and Finance for timely procurement and material availability.
Handle urgent/ad-hoc procurement requirements while ensuring commercial effectiveness and timely delivery.
Monitor Purchase Requisition (PR) to Purchase Order (PO) cycle, open orders and procurement lead time.
Manage vendor performance, including quality, delivery, commercial performance and supplier development.
Maintain procurement documentation including quotation evaluation, rate approval, purchase orders, vendor records and related commercial documents.
Support supplier audits, internal/external audits and procurement compliance.
Prepare procurement MIS, supplier performance reports, cost-saving reports and management presentations.
Ensure adherence to procurement policies, SOPs, transparency and commercial controls.
