Our editorial coverage spans India, Europe, the United States, and emerging global markets, with a strong focus on responsible, research-driven business journalism.
We are looking for aspiring journalists and business writers who want hands-on experience working in a fast-moving international newsroom.
Role: News Intern
The News Intern will support Global Business Line's editorial team in covering global business, startups, investments, technology, and capital markets.
The internship is designed for candidates who want to build a strong portfolio of published business journalism and gain practical newsroom experience.
Key Responsibilities
• Research breaking business and startup stories
• Track startup funding, VC and private equity investments
• Monitor mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, and major corporate developments
• Follow developments across AI, FinTech, SaaS, DeepTech, and emerging technologies
• Monitor important economic and policy developments
• Research companies, founders, investors, industries, and markets
• Draft business news articles, briefs, and story summaries
• Assist editors with long-form features and analytical stories
• Verify facts, statistics, company information, and sources before publication
• Identify potential story angles and emerging industry trends
• Update and manage digital editorial content
• Support interviews, editorial research, and multimedia content when required
• Participate in editorial discussions and contribute story ideas
Who Should Apply
We are looking for candidates with:
• Strong English writing and news-writing skills
• Excellent online research and fact-checking abilities
• Interest in startups, business, finance, technology, venture capital, or global markets
• Ability to understand complex business information and explain it clearly
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently in a remote newsroom setting
• Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-moving news cycle
• Familiarity with digital research tools, CMS platforms, Google Workspace, and collaboration tools
Candidates pursuing or holding a degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Economics, Finance, Business, English, or related disciplines are encouraged to apply.
Previous journalism experience is not mandatory. Campus journalism, blogging, newsletters,
research projects, or demonstrated writing ability will be considered an advantage.
