* Mastercam knowledge for machining/tool development
* Complete understanding of tool manufacturing, assembly, trials and troubleshooting
* Robust practical knowledge of Wire EDM, milling, surface grinding, lathe and other tool-room machines
* Knowledge of tool steels, heat treatment, clearances, punches, dies, inserts, guides, springs, sensors, etc.
* Ability to diagnose issues such as tool breakage, burr, dimensional variation, feeding problems, misalignment and premature tool wear
* Ability to take a component from drawing strip/layout concept tool design machining assembly press trial correction production approval.
Preferred candidate profile
Lead a team of 8-10 tool-room technicians/toolmakers, allocate work, guide machining and fitting, check accuracy, assemble tools and ensure timely completion.
