About the Role
We are looking for a Factory Automation & Industry 4.0 Lead to drive smart manufacturing initiatives at our new Raipur facility connecting machines, control systems, and shop-floor data into a unified digital factory. This role owns the technical direction for automation, IIoT, and OT networks on-site, while working closely with SAP, IT infrastructure, and production teams to ensure machine-level data flows reliably into business systems. You must be hands-on to guide control systems and network architecture decisions directly, while also coordinating vendors,
remote specialists, and cross-functional teams to execute the broader Industry 4.0 roadmap.
Key Responsibilities
Automation & Control Systems
• Provide technical direction for PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems across the plant's
production lines
• Guide integration of new machines and legacy equipment into a unified
automation and monitoring environment
IIoT & Edge-to-Cloud Architecture
• Design and oversee the plant& IIoT architecture connecting machines,
sensors, and control systems to central data platforms (cloud or on-prem)
• Work with edge computing and industrial communication protocols (OPC UA/DA,
Modbus, MQTT, or similar) to ensure reliable, secure data flow from the shop
floor
• Support digital twin and predictive analytics initiatives as the plant& data maturity grows
IT/OT Integration & Network Security
• Own IT/OT network segregation and security practices for the plant, working with
the broader IT infrastructure team
• Ensure OT systems are secured and monitored in line with good industry practice (e.g., IEC 62443 principles)
• Act as the technical point person connecting shop-floor systems (SCADA, MES, Historian) with SAP and other business systems
Data, Dashboards & Reporting
• Work with the BI/data team to ensure that machine and production data is accurately
captured and available for dashboards and reporting
• Support historian-to-SAP and MES-to-SAP integration efforts
• Help define what shop-floor data leadership needs visibility into, and how it should flow into existing reporting tools
• Support integration between shop-floor automation systems and fabrication
MIS/MES platforms (e.g., Strumis, Tekla PowerFab, or similar), ensuring production, nesting, and material data flows correctly between machines, MES, and SAP
Required Skills
• 1012 years of experience in industrial automation, controls engineering, or
digital manufacturing, with real hands-on exposure (not purely strategy/oversight)
• Strong working knowledge of PLC/HMI/SCADA systems (Siemens, Delta, Mitsubishi, or similar)
• Solid understanding of OT networks, industrial communication protocols, and IT/OT segregation principles
• Experience with IIoT platforms and edge-to-cloud data integration
• Working knowledge of SAP and how shop-floor/OT data connects into SAP (MES/Historian-to-SAP integration, SAP PM, or similar)
• Comfortable being the on-ground technical lead hands-on with equipment and systems, not just a program manager
• Robust vendor management and cross-functional team leadership experience
• Manufacturing background, ideally in a heavy engineering, fabrication, or process manufacturing environment
Nice to Have
• Experience specifically with SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud (rather than only on-prem SAP)
• Exposure to digital twin, AI/ML-driven predictive maintenance, or advanced analytics initiatives
• OT cybersecurity certification or hands-on experience (IEC 62443, ISO 27001, or similar)
• Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Grafana, or similar) for shop- floor/OEE dashboards
• Familiarity with fabrication MIS/MES platforms such as Strumis, Tekla PowerFab, or similar particularly how they interface with CNC/production machines and downstream ERP systems
• Experience setting up a greenfield or newly commissioned plant, rather than only steady-state operations
• TPM/OEE improvement program experience
