Position: Purchase Engineer

Location: Doddaballapur Industrial Area, Bangalore Rural

Working: 6 days

Qualification and Experience level:

B.E Mechanical Engineering

3-6 years of experience, in the Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) industry.

We are looking for a Purchase Engineer preferably in an EMS company. The candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day purchase activities, processing purchase orders, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring timely availability of materials to support production requirements

Responsibilities / Critical tasks

Handle day-to-day purchase activities for electronic & electrical components, mechanical parts, consumables, and other materials.

Create and release Purchase Orders (POs) based on approved material requirements.

Follow up with suppliers for PO confirmation, material availability, delivery schedules.

Monitor open POs and ensure timely delivery of materials as per production requirements.

Coordinate with suppliers regarding delayed deliveries, shortages, and pending materials.

Coordinate with Planning, Stores, Production, Engineering, Quality, and Finance teams for material requirements and delivery status.

Monitor critical and shortage materials and take necessary follow-up actions to avoid production stoppages.

Track supplier delivery performance and maintain purchase-related records and reports.

Ensure proper documentation and timely closure of purchase orders.





Support inventory and material availability requirements by ensuring timely procurement and delivery.

Handle supplier issues and escalate critical matters to the concerned management.

Knowledge of Electronic components and BOM-based procurement.

Good knowledge of MS Excel and ERP systems.

Positive communication, coordination, and follow-up skills.

Skills & Knowledge:

- Strong understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and IATF 16949 requirements related to procurement and supplier management.
- Experience in Supplier Quality Management, Vendor Audits, and Supplier Performance Evaluation.
- Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.), MRP, and material planning processes.
- Familiarity with RoHS, REACH, Conflict Minerals, and Environmental Compliance requirements.
- Understanding of Inventory Management, Demand Planning, Logistics Coordination, and Warehouse Operations.
- Experience in implementing Cost Reduction, Strategic Sourcing, Lean Supply Chain, and Risk Management practices.
- Knowledge of supplier corrective action processes, quality management systems, and global sourcing practices.
- Ability to analyze market trends, commodity pricing, and supplier performance for effective decision-making.
