Role & responsibilities
- Inspect incoming material: bare PCBs, electronic components, connectors, cables and harness sub-parts, against drawings, datasheets and purchase specs. Check CoCs, date codes and lot traceability.
- Do in-process and final inspection of PCB assemblies, covering SMT/THT solder joints, component placement and polarity, conformal coating, cleanliness and workmanship, to IPC-A-610 (Class 3) and J-STD-001.
- Inspect cable and wire harnesses to IPC/WHMA-A-620: crimp quality, pull tests, routing, lacing, marking, backshells and sleeving. Witness continuity, insulation resistance (IR) and hi-pot tests.
- Review and witness board-level and functional tests (ICT/FCT) and ESS such as burn-in and thermal cycling, and record results.
- Carry out First Article Inspection (FAI)
to AS9102 for recent or changed parts.
- Check ESD controls (ANSI/ESD S20.20), MSL handling and baking, and shelf-life/storage compliance on the shop floor.
- Raise and close NCRs, lead MRB dispositions, and drive root cause and corrective action (8D, 5-Why, Ishikawa).
- Take part in supplier and sub-contractor inspections and audits for EMS and harness vendors.
- Prepare inspection reports, travellers and quality records, and support customer and DGAQA/QA-agency inspections.
