Job Summary

The role in one line. You own game balancing and economy design across our live titles.

You define how resources flow, how players progress, and how the in-game economy stays healthy. You would work across four live games rather than one, so your changes reach players often and you see what they did to the numbers within days.

Responsibilities

- Economy design. Soft and hard currency systems, resource sinks and sources, and inflation control across live titles.
- The models behind it. Economy spreadsheets that model resource flows, progression curves and player spending patterns. The model is the design.
- Progression and reward. Difficulty curves, reward loops and progression gates, tuned against real player behaviour.
- Specs. Feature specs and GDDs written closely with our Senior Game Designer, transparent enough to be built without a clarification meeting.
- Live economy health. Post-launch monitoring, balance proposals, event and limited-time-offer economy, and IAP pricing and offer structure.

Who you are

- You are numerate about play. You can build a progression model in a spreadsheet and defend the numbers in it.
- You play these games. Simulation, tycoon and management titles, and you can say precisely why an economy in one of them works or does not.




- You write clearly. A spec that needs a meeting to explain is not finished.
- You are curious about live data. You want to see what players actually did, not what you assumed they would.

Nice to have

- Any shipped title, personal, student or commercial, where you owned the economy.
- Familiarity with free-to-play monetisation without cynicism about it.
- Comfort with SQL, or the willingness to pick it up quickly.

Experience and level

This role sits at L2 on our ladder and maps to roughly 1-3 years of experience. We treat that as a reconciliation guideline rather than a gate: if you can do the job, merit can outrun the years.

How we work

Direct communication, no bureaucracy, and decisions made in the room. You will work closely with the founders and with every game lead. Releases are frequent, so what you build reaches players in days rather than quarters. You would report to our Senior Game Designer.
