- Ensure MFI, moisture, ash and colour are tested against the COA for every incoming lot of resin, pigment, filler and additive
- Take the clear-or-hold decision on each lot before it goes to production
- Inform purchase of any off-spec material
In-process checks
- Ensure CPG (count program), bulk density, MFI and FPV are run on every batch at the set frequency
- Authorise stoppage of any line when readings fall outside limits
Colour and batch release
- Ensure shade is matched on the spectrophotometer against the approved standard
- Check appearance (PA) of the masterbatch and of the article (chips or film)
- Approve or reject each batch and sign the COA
Complaints and rejections
- Lead investigation into customer complaints and establish root cause
- Ensure complaints are closed with corrective action within a fixed timeline
Lab, records and team
- Keep instruments calibrated and the lab stocked
- Maintain test SOPs and records for ISO and customer audits
- Supervise and train QC staff across shifts
- Set the release specification for every recent grade before it is sold
- Report monthly on rejection %, rework % and complaints
Preferred candidate profile
- 5-10 years in QC in masterbatch, compounding or polymer processing, with 2 years of experience handling a team
- Hands-on with MFI, bulk density, FPV, ash and moisture testing
- Able to operate a spectrophotometer and judge colour shade by eye, not only by E
- Understands how extrusion settings affect dispersion and colour, so faults can be traced back to the line
- Fluent in Hindi and Gujarati; English sufficient for COAs, complaint replies and audits
