About the Role
Teacher Partners at Openhouse deliver engaging, high-quality Chess classes for children while taking ownership of student progress, parent experience, and the overall learning environment. This role is ideal for educators who enjoy helping children build focus, logical thinking, and problem-solving through the game of chess.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality classes: Prepare for and conduct Chess classes using the Openhouse curriculum, guiding students through rules, tactics, puzzles, and practice games.
- Track student development: Monitor student progress, maintain documentation, and provide meaningful feedback to parents and the management team through regular updates and progress reports.
- Support the learning community: Interact with parents during feedback sessions, workshops, and events, and collaborate with the management team to support student trials and admissions when required.
- Lead tournaments and events: Prepare students for in-house tournaments,
showcases and events, and participate in training and team meetings.
Who Are We Looking For
- Individuals passionate about introducing children to chess.
- Solid understanding of chess rules, tactics, and strategy.
- Willingness to work with children aged 5-12
- Tournament experience or a chess rating is a plus.
- Prior experience teaching or coaching chess to children is preferred.
Time Commitment
Any 5 days of the week (20 hours per week, 4 hours each day you choose):
- Weekday Timings: 3:00 PM 7:30 PM
- Weekend Timings: based on demand
Location
Classes are conducted across Bangalore at learning centers or apartment complexes. The location will be assigned according to your preference.
Compensation
INR 20,000 30,000 per month depending on performance in interview rounds
