Qualification: Masters in Water Resources Engineering / Civil Engineering / Hydrology / Irrigation Engineering / Environmental Engineering (MBA preferred)

Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned qualified to lead the Water Resources practice. The Sector Head will provide strategic, technical, and operational leadership across projects in irrigation, river basin management, flood control, watershed development, and integrated water resource management. The role involves driving sector excellence, mentoring multidisciplinary teams, strengthening client relationships, and positioning the organization as a leader in water resources consulting.

Key Responsibilities

- Define the strategic direction and growth roadmap for the Water Resources practice (domestic & international).
- Provide technical leadership and oversight across all projects, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
- Monitor project performance, resolve critical technical issues, and support successful execution.
- Track emerging policies, technologies, funding programs, and industry trends to identify new opportunities.
- Drive business development through sector insights and client engagement.
- Build and mentor a highperforming technical team, fostering capability development and knowledge sharing.




- Represent the organization in highlevel meetings, conferences, and government/client interactions.
- Develop thought leadership content (white papers, publications, knowledge notes, industry presentations).
- Promote innovation, standardization, and continuous improvement across the practice.

Desired Candidate Profile

- Minimum 15 years of experience in the Water Resources sector, preferably with leading infrastructure consulting firms.
- Proven experience in large consulting assignments (DPRs, PMC, irrigation projects, flood management, watershed development, dam/reservoir planning, technical advisory).
- Strong technical expertise in integrated water resources management, irrigation systems, hydrology, hydraulic modelling, river rejuvenation, flood risk management, and climateresilient infrastructure.
- Wellversed with government programmes such as PMKSY, Atal Bhujal Yojana, DRIP, and river rejuvenation initiatives.
- Experience with multilateralfunded projects (World Bank, ADB, UNDP, UNICEF).
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to build client confidence, provide strategic direction, and drive organizational excellence.
