Key Responsibilities

- Edit and proofread manuscripts for grammar, spelling, punctuation, sentence structure, and readability.
- Check content for factual accuracy, conceptual correctness, and consistency.
- Ensure content is appropriate for the intended class, age group, and learning level.
- Review manuscripts according to prescribed curriculum, syllabus, and educational guidelines.
- Coordinate with authors and subject matter experts for corrections, revisions, and content improvement.
- Check chapter structure, headings, exercises, activities, illustrations, tables, captions, and answer keys.
- Ensure consistency in terminology, formatting, style, and language throughout the book.
- Prepare and maintain editorial comments and correction sheets.
- Review designed pages and PDFs before final printing.
- Check page proofs for missing text, incorrect placement, formatting errors, and other production-related issues.
- Work closely with the design, typesetting, illustration, and production teams.
- Conduct multiple rounds of proofreading whenever required.
- Ensure projects are completed within assigned deadlines.
- Suggest improvements to make educational content more engaging, clear, and learner-friendly.
- Maintain high editorial and publishing quality standards across all assigned projects.

Required Skills

- Excellent command of English grammar, vocabulary, spelling, punctuation, and written communication.
- Strong editing and proofreading skills.




- Good understanding of educational and academic content.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify errors.
- Ability to verify facts and conduct basic content research.
- Ability to handle multiple books/projects simultaneously.
- Positive communication and coordination skills.
- Strong time-management and organisational abilities.
- Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PDF editing/review tools, and Google Workspace.
- Familiarity with publishing software and workflows will be an advantage.

Qualification

- Bachelors or Masters Degree in English, Education, Humanities, Social Sciences, Science, or a relevant subject.
- Degree in English Literature / Mass Communication / Journalism / Publishing will be preferred depending on the editorial subject area.

Experience

- 1 to 5 years of editorial, proofreading, content development, or publishing experience preferred.
- Candidates with experience in school books, educational publishing, academic content, or K12 publishing will be given preference.

- Strong in language and grammar
- Comfortable working with educational content
- Able to meet strict publishing deadlines
- Capable of coordinating effectively with different departments
- Interested in books, education, and content development
- Able to take ownership of assigned titles from manuscript to final proof
