Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Electrician to support the electrical operation and maintenance activities at our Water & Wastewater Treatment Plant in Taramani, Chennai.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in electrical maintenance of industrial plants, preferably STP/ETP or Water Treatment Plants, with good knowledge of electrical panels, motors, pumps, starters, cables and basic troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities

1. Electrical Operation & Maintenance

- Carry out routine electrical operation and maintenance activities at the STP/ETP plant.
- Monitor electrical equipment and ensure reliable plant operation.
- Attend electrical breakdowns and troubleshoot faults effectively.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical equipment.
- Ensure electrical equipment is maintained in safe and working condition.

2. Electrical Equipment Handling

- Maintain and troubleshoot:
- Electrical Control Panels
- MCC / PCC Panels
- Motors
- Pumps
- Starters
- Contactors & Relays
- MCB / MCCB
- Cable connections
- Level sensors and basic instrumentation
- Blowers and other plant electrical equipment
- Check motor current, voltage and basic electrical parameters.
- Identify electrical faults and take corrective action.

3. STP / ETP Plant Support

- Provide electrical support for STP/ETP plant operations.
- Ensure uninterrupted power supply to critical plant equipment.




- Coordinate with Plant Operators and Site Supervisor during equipment operation.
- Attend electrical issues related to pumps, blowers, agitators and other treatment plant equipment.

4. Preventive Maintenance

- Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance of electrical equipment.
- Inspect panels, motors, cables, terminals and electrical connections.
- Check for loose connections, overheating and abnormal electrical conditions.
- Maintain preventive maintenance records and checklists.

5. Breakdown Maintenance

- Attend emergency electrical breakdowns promptly.
- Troubleshoot electrical faults and restore equipment operation.
- Coordinate with the Site In-Charge/Supervisor for major breakdowns.
- Maintain breakdown reports and communicate recurring electrical issues.

6. Safety & Compliance

- Follow all electrical safety procedures and site safety guidelines.
- Use appropriate PPE while performing electrical work.
- Follow protected isolation and electrical maintenance practices.
- Ensure proper housekeeping around electrical panels and work areas.
- Report unsafe electrical conditions immediately to the Site In-Charge.

7. Documentation & Reporting

- Maintain daily electrical maintenance records.
- Record preventive and breakdown maintenance activities.
- Maintain equipment inspection checklists.
- Report electrical issues,



spare requirements and maintenance status to the Site In-Charge.

Required Skills

- Good knowledge of industrial electrical maintenance.
- Hands-on experience with motors, pumps, panels and starters.
- Basic knowledge of MCC/PCC panels.
- Knowledge of electrical fault finding and troubleshooting.
- Ability to read basic electrical drawings.
- Knowledge of preventive and breakdown maintenance.
- Basic knowledge of electrical safety and PPE.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to work in shifts as per plant requirements.

Preferred Industry Experience

Candidates with experience in the following industries will be preferred:

- Water & Wastewater Treatment
- STP / ETP
- Industrial Utility
- Manufacturing Plant
- Chemical / Process Industry
- Infrastructure / Plant Maintenance

Candidate Profile

The candidate should be technically competent and capable of independently handling routine electrical maintenance and troubleshooting activities. Candidates with hands-on experience in STP/ETP or Water Treatment Plant electrical maintenance will be preferred.

Salary

25,000 to 35,000 CTC per month
Salary will depend on experience, technical skills and interview performance.
