Role & responsibilities
- Design and lead the architecture of secure, scalable, highly available, and resilient enterprise IT infrastructure.
- Develop infrastructure strategies, technology roadmaps, standards, and reference architectures aligned with business requirements.
- Design and implement on-premises, cloud, and hybrid infrastructure environments.
- Architect compute, storage, networking, virtualization, backup, disaster recovery, and data center solutions.
- Design cloud infrastructure solutions using AWS, Azure, GCP, or hybrid-cloud technologies.
- Define infrastructure capacity, performance, availability, scalability, and disaster-recovery requirements.
- Lead infrastructure modernization, cloud migration, data-center transformation, and technology refresh initiatives.
- Design and implement Infrastructure as Code, configuration management, automation, and CI/CD practices.
- Establish infrastructure security controls including network segmentation, IAM, encryption, firewalls, vulnerability management, and access controls.
- Design high-availability, fault-tolerant, backup, disaster-recovery, and business-continuity solutions.
- Collaborate with application development, DevOps, security, networking, database, cloud, and operations teams.
- Conduct infrastructure assessments, architecture reviews, capacity planning, and technology evaluations.
- Identify and resolve complex infrastructure, performance, availability, and scalability issues.
- Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability solutions for infrastructure environments.
- Evaluate emerging infrastructure and cloud technologies and recommend solutions based on business and technical requirements.
- Optimize infrastructure costs, resource utilization, operational efficiency, and performance.
- Maintain infrastructure architecture documentation, network diagrams, standards, and technical procedures.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to infrastructure, cloud, DevOps, and operations teams.
Preferred candidate profile
- 5 to 10 years of experience in infrastructure engineering, systems administration, cloud engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure architecture.
- Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale infrastructure solutions.
- Robust hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, GCP, or hybrid-cloud environments.
- Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows Server operating systems, virtualization, compute, storage, and networking.
- Experience with VMware, Hyper-V, Kubernetes, Docker, and modern infrastructure technologies.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, routing, switching, firewalls, proxies, and load balancers.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent technologies.
- Proficiency with configuration-management and automation tools such as Ansible, PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
- Strong knowledge of backup, disaster recovery, high availability, fault tolerance, business continuity, and capacity planning.
- Experience designing infrastructure security solutions including IAM, Active Directory, network security, encryption, vulnerability management, and security controls.
- Hands-on experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or equivalent tools.
- Strong understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, Git, automation, and infrastructure lifecycle management.
- Experience leading cloud migrations, data-center transformation, infrastructure modernization, or large-scale technology projects.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, documentation, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to evaluate technologies, make architecture decisions, and balance performance, reliability, security, and cost.
- Experience mentoring engineers and providing technical leadership across infrastructure and operations teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree is an advantage.
- Relevant certifications such as AWS/Azure/GCP Architect, VMware, CCNP, ITIL, Kubernetes, or TOGAF are preferred.
