Location: PwC India Hubs Bhubaneshwar and Noida
Experience: 8–12+ years (with at least 4+ years of core SAP technical leadership)
Job Summary & Purpose
As a Manager at PwC India, you will lead technical workstreams, manage client engagements, and architect advanced cloud-ready solutions. You will combine deep traditional Object-Oriented ABAP expertise with next-generation cloud architectures like SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform) and RAP (RESTful Application Programming model). In this dual-responsibility role, you will drive business transformation initiatives for clients while mentoring internal technical teams to deliver top-tier clean-core extensions.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Architecture & Extension Delivery
- RAP Development: Architect, design, and implement end-to-end applications using the SAP BTP ABAP Environment or S/4HANA on-premise/cloud using RAP. Define and build Core Data Services (CDS) views, behavior definitions, and service definitions.
- BTP Integration & Engineering: Deploy scalable extension applications on SAP BTP using core platform capabilities like SAP Integration Suite, SAP Event Mesh, and SAP HANA Cloud data modeling.
- Clean Core Enforcement: Ensure all developments strictly adhere to SAP’s "Clean Core" principles, decoupling custom logic from the standard ERP layer through side-by-side or cloud-ready in-app extensions.
- Quality Assurance: Lead technical solution designs, conduct comprehensive code reviews, optimize database performance (AMDP, HANA tuning), and enforce robust security protocols.
Team Leadership & Talent Management
- People Development: Act as a technical mentor and coach. Foster the upskilling of Senior Associates and Developers in modern ABAP paradigms (RAP, CAP, BTP).
- Workstream Ownership: Manage project delivery timelines, resource allocation,
and budget track-records for complex implementation or conversion projects.
- Culture & Inclusion: Drive a performance-oriented, collaborative team culture that values active listening, diverse perspectives, and intellectual curiosity.
Client Advisory & Business Growth
- Strategic Planning: Partner with functional consultants and client executives to translate complex business objectives into efficient technical roadmaps.
- Chance Identification: Apply your growing industry knowledge to find process improvement areas for clients, translating technical possibilities into tangible business cases.
- Stakeholder Management: Confidently navigate escalations, lead negotiation rounds, and prepare project status reporting for Senior Leadership.
Required Technical Skills
Mandatory Skill Sets
- Next-Gen ABAP: SAP RAP (RESTful Application Programming), CDS Views, AMDP, OData service generation (V2/V4), and Object-Oriented ABAP.
- SAP BTP Ecosystem: Hands-on implementation utilizing SAP Business Application Studio (BAS), Cloud Connector, and platform services.
- Core ABAP Foundations: Deep proficiency in traditional RICEFW components, BAPIs, RFCs, IDocs, Enhancements, and BAdIs.
- S/4HANA Modernisation: Full-lifecycle conversion experience, system performance optimization, and custom-code adaptation methodologies.
Preferred / Good-to-Have Skills
- CAP Model: Familiarity with the Cloud Application Programming model (Node.js/Java).
- Frontend Basics: Understanding of SAP Fiori, UI5, and launchpad service integration.
- Emerging Tech: Experience exposing enterprise systems as AI-ready data layers or working with BTP AI services.
- Certifications: Valid SAP Certifications in SAP BTP, S/4HANA System Administration, or ABAP Cloud Development.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor of Engineering / Technology (B.E./B.Tech) or Master of Business Administration (MBA) from a recognized university.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills with strong presentation skills for client interactions
