Position Description

We are looking for an experienced Java Developer with 4+ years of hands-on experience in Java development to join our team. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Java 8, JSP, Servlets, JavaScript, REST APIs, and web application development.

The candidate will be responsible for developing, enhancing, debugging, and maintaining Java-based applications, with a strong focus on backend development and integration. Experience working with an Agency Portal is an added advantage.

Strong communication, analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills are essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, enhance, and maintain applications using Java SE/EE, with a strong focus on Java 8.
- Develop and maintain web applications using JSP, Servlets, and Java-based MVC patterns.
- Implement backend components including controllers, service layers, and DAO/data-access layers.
- Develop and integrate REST APIs for application-to-application communication.




- Work with JDBC and relational databases such as MySQL and Oracle.
- Understand and work with HTTP protocols, session management, and request/response lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain JSP-based user interfaces using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Work with application servers such as Apache Tomcat.
- Troubleshoot application issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement effective solutions.
- Work with XML, XSD, and DTD for data validation, configuration, and integration requirements.
- Use Git/Bitbucket, Maven, and Java IDEs such as Eclipse, STS, or IntelliJ IDEA.
- Build, deploy, and manage application releases using Jenkins.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and application support activities.
- Follow coding standards, development best practices, and established SDLC processes.

Must-Have Skills & Experience

- 4+ years of professional experience in Java development.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java 8.
- Good knowledge of Java SE/EE.
- Strong experience with JSP and Servlets.
- Good understanding of Java-based MVC architecture/patterns.
- Experience developing backend applications using Controller, Service, and DAO layers.
- Strong understanding of REST APIs and web services.
- Good understanding of HTTP, session management, and request/response lifecycle.
- Hands-on experience with JDBC and relational databases such as MySQL or Oracle.
- Experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, particularly for JSP-based applications.
- Experience working with Apache Tomcat or similar application servers.




- Hands-on experience with Git/Bitbucket and Maven.
- Experience with Jenkins and CI/CD processes.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented development environment.

Good-to-Have Skills

- Hands-on experience with Agency Portal.
- Experience working with XML, XSD, and DTD for data validation and configuration.
- Exposure to GitHub Copilot or other AI-assisted development tools.
- Experience with Eclipse, Spring Tool Suite (STS), or IntelliJ IDEA.
- Familiarity with CI/CD and automated deployment practices.
- Exposure to enterprise application development and integration.
