Responsibilities Oracle Database Administration

- Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle database software.
- Apply quarterly patches for Grid and Oracle home.
- Configure and maintain standby database.
- Monitor database performance and implement optimization strategies.
- Ensure database security and compliance with organizational policies.
- Perform regular backups and recovery operations.
- Collaborate with developers to design and implement database solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues promptly.
- Develop and maintain database documentation and standards.
- Plan and execute database migrations and upgrades.
- Setup Oracle GoldenGate, both unidirectional and bidirectional.
- Maintain Oracle GoldenGate synchronization with source.
- Identify Oracle GoldenGate sync-related issues and implement best practices.
- Identify performance issues and implement best practices.
- User creation and access management.
- Storage capacity planning to ensure ASM and tablespace are maintained under threshold and avoid repetitive space-related incidents.
- Create and maintain RAC with Data Guard.
- Administration of RAC database.
- AWS RDS instance administration, rehydration, engine upgrade, and certificate renewal.





PostgreSQL Database Administration
- Excellent knowledge of PostgreSQL installation, configuration, and troubleshooting replication tools.
- Troubleshoot issues involving Unix level commands.
- Fix issues related to backup and recovery with commands.
- Valuable hands-on troubleshooting related to user-related problems like access management, space management, generic errors, etc.
- Database upgrades and migrations on any cloud environment.
- Different types of replication concepts like group replication, multi-master replication.
- Excellent performance troubleshooting using pgAdmin commands and tools like pgpool, repmgr, oswatcher.
- Troubleshooting issues related to database upgrades and migrations.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot replication tools.
- Troubleshoot issues involving Unix, storage or network problems.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation of database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Respond to alerts and incidents promptly to minimize service disruptions.
- Collaborate with Level 1 and Level 2 support and other teams to address escalated incidents.
