Job Summary:

The Assistant Manager Electrical is responsible for overseeing the electrical systems and equipment in a particle board manufacturing facility. This role ensures uninterrupted production by maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing electrical machinery, motors, and control systems. The position also involves supervising the electrical maintenance team, ensuring safety compliance, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Electrical Maintenance & Operations:

- Supervise installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in the particle board plant, including motors, drives, conveyors, and control panels.
- Ensure preventive maintenance schedules are followed to minimize downtime.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical faults promptly to maintain continuous production.
- Maintain documentation of electrical systems, wiring diagrams, and maintenance activities.

2. Team Management & Coordination:

- Lead and mentor a team of electricians and technicians.
- Allocate tasks, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to safety and operational standards.
- Coordinate with production, mechanical, and quality teams for smooth plant operations.

3. Safety & Compliance:

- Ensure all electrical operations comply with safety regulations and company policies.
- Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and training for electrical staff.
- Ensure proper grounding,



insulation, and protective devices are in place.

4. Process Improvement & Support:

- Assist in the design and commissioning of new electrical systems or upgrades.
- Identify opportunities for energy efficiency and cost reduction in electrical consumption.
- Support troubleshooting of automation and control systems, including PLCs and SCADA.

5. Reporting & Documentation:

- Prepare reports on equipment performance, downtime, and maintenance activities.
- Recommend spare parts inventory and replacement strategies.
- Assist management in budgeting for electrical maintenance and projects.

Skills & Competencies:

- Robust technical knowledge of electrical systems in heavy industrial plants.
- Ability to work under pressure and minimize production downtime.
- Effective team leadership and training capabilities.
- Continuous improvement mindset and familiarity with energy-efficient practice

Safety Measures :

- Conduct toolbox talks / shift briefings
- Issue and Verify PPE compliance
- Enforce SOP / LOTO / Permit to Work
- Report incidents / near misses promptly and Support incident investigations
- Ensure only trained / authorized persons operate equipment
- Escalate unresolved unsafe conditions, near miss hazards to Line Manager
