Job Summary

FNP is looking for a Software Development Engineer - 2 (Backend) to contribute to building scalable, reliable, and maintainable systems for our rapid-growing digital business. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with modern backend technologies and a strong interest in solving real-world problems at scale.

Responsibilities

- Backend Development: Design and develop scalable, reliable, and maintainable backend systems for high-performance digital applications.
- System Performance: Build efficient systems with an understanding of concurrency, memory optimization, and performance tuning.
- Database Development: Work with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB and DynamoDB and understand when relational databases are appropriate.
- Streaming Caching: Develop event-driven and real-time systems using Kafka, Redis, RabbitMQ, or similar technologies.
- Search: Work with Elasticsearch or Apache Solr to support intelligent and relevant product discovery experiences.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product Managers, Designers, and other engineering teams to align technology solutions with business outcomes.
- Quality Reliability: Build maintainable systems while following best practices for security, reliability, scalability, and performance.
- Business Impact: Contribute to initiatives that improve customer experience, launch velocity, conversion, and overall business performance.

Qualifications

- Relevant software engineering experience within the 1-4 year range covered by the SDE-1/SDE-2 JD.




- Experience in e-commerce, fintech, gaming, or high-scale consumer technology is a strong plus.
- Strong problem-solving and ownership mindset.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment.

Core Engineering Skills

- Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Go, Java, or Node.js.
- Understanding of concurrency, memory optimization, and performance tuning.
- Experience with MongoDB, DynamoDB, and relational databases.
- Experience with Kafka, Redis, RabbitMQ, or similar streaming and caching technologies.
- Familiarity with Elasticsearch or Apache Solr.

Good to Have

- React.js, Angular, or similar frontend framework experience.
- Next.js, Gatsby, or similar SSR/SSG framework knowledge.
- React Native, Flutter, or native mobile development exposure.
- Experience with GCP, AWS, or similar cloud platforms.
- Knowledge of CDNs, caching strategies, and performance optimization.
- Exposure to AI/ML, recommendation engines, or personalization frameworks.
