Job Summary

The Area Collection Manager is responsible for managing and driving collections across the assigned geography for Two Wheeler, Three Wheeler, and Tractor loan portfolios. The role involves handling delinquent accounts across Bucket 1 to Bucket 6+, ensuring collection efficiency, controlling roll-forward rates, minimizing credit losses, managing collection agencies, supervising field collection teams, and maintaining portfolio quality while adhering to regulatory and compliance guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

Portfolio & Collection Management

- Manage collections for 2W, 3W, and Tractor finance portfolios across assigned branches/geographies.
- Drive collection performance across Bucket 1 to Bucket 6+ accounts.
- Ensure achievement of collection efficiency, overdue reduction, and delinquency management targets.
- Control bucket migration and reduce forward flow rates.
- Monitor and improve recovery ratios across all delinquency buckets.

Bucket-wise Collection Strategy

Bucket 1 (1-30 DPD)

- Drive reminder calling and early delinquency resolution.
- Focus on customer engagement and payment commitments.
- Ensure minimal roll-over to Bucket 2.

Bucket 2 (31-60 DPD)

- Conduct intensified follow-ups.
- Monitor broken promises and repayment behavior.
- Initiate field visits where required.

Bucket 3 (61-90 DPD)

- Manage high-risk delinquent customers.
- Execute structured recovery plans.
- Coordinate with sales and branch teams for resolution.

Bucket 4-6 (91-180+ DPD)

- Drive aggressive recovery efforts.
- Handle repossession cases as per company policy.
- Negotiate settlements within approved guidelines.
- Monitor legal and recovery actions.

Agency Management

- Appoint, supervise, and evaluate collection agencies and recovery vendors.
- Establish productivity benchmarks and performance monitoring mechanisms.
- Ensure agencies follow company policies,



RBI guidelines, and fair collection practices.
- Conduct regular agency audits and field reviews.

Team Management

- Lead Collection Officers, Recovery Executives, and Agency Managers.
- Conduct periodic reviews, coaching sessions, and productivity assessments.
- Drive performance management and capability development of field collection teams.
- Ensure manpower planning and deployment effectiveness.

Legal & Recovery Management

- Coordinate with legal teams for recovery and repossession proceedings.
- Track litigated accounts and ensure timely follow-up.
- Support execution of legal recovery processes for chronic delinquent cases.
- Manage settlement proposals and write-off recovery initiatives.

Skip & High-Risk Account Management

- Monitor skip cases and fraud-sensitive accounts.
- Coordinate tracing activities and field investigations.
- Develop action plans for difficult recovery cases.

Compliance & Governance

- Ensure strict adherence to RBI regulations, company policies, and ethical collection practices.
- Prevent customer complaints and regulatory escalations.
- Conduct field audits and process checks.
- Maintain required documentation and collection records.

MIS & Reporting

- Prepare and review collection MIS reports.
- Analyze bucket movement, collection efficiency, agency productivity, and recovery trends.
- Present portfolio reviews to regional/state leadership.
- Forecast recovery performance and action plans.
